Got an idear about how to celebrate "Earth Hour," but I'll need some help...

Hey y'all! Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

Good Friday afternoon!

This coming Saturday (March 27th) is Earth Hour – from 8:30 until 9:30PM at your local time.

I fully intend to turn on EVERY light at Andy's Place during that hour.  I also intend to turn on the televisions, radios, the electric oven, run the dishwasher, do some laundry, and toast about 3 loaves of bread (one slice at a time).  I may even run the AC, even though it's not warm enough.  Ya' know...just test her out for when it finally gets hot.

I had this crazy idea, (shocker) and I'll do it if y'all participate.  I am inviting all visitors to Andy's Place to join me in lighting up your residence.  And, I am inviting y'all to snap a photo of your place, and e-mail it to me.  I will then compile them into a post, so we can all enjoy the magnificence of human technology together.

Now, to protect the privacy of our visitors, I will not caption the photos as to whose place is whose.  And, I will edit out any visible addresses, etc.  I know some folks are more sensitive about that stuff than others.

So, I'm gonna give it a try.  Y'all participate if you want to.  If you don't want to, you sure won't hurt my feelings...trust me, you won't.  You can send your shot to justandysplace@aol.com, or justandysplace@gmail.com

Love,  Andy

  1. Cool. The little spinny thing on my power meter will be going like an Iranian centrifuge. My home ain't exactly "picturesque" though, as all the biggest windows are blocked by trees

  3. Heh. I've been doin' this (turnin' on ALL the lights) since the first stupid-ass "Earth Hour." I'm sure the utility companies love us deniers.

  5. I'll join in, too. I am planning on renting a backhoe and making new ditches in front of my house tomorrow night. I can't afford to buy replacement bulbs for the highway work lights, though. Plus, my neighbor that participated last year moved away. Dangit, our cul-de-sac looked like a space shuttle launch last year.
