Freudian slip...

Stolen from a comment thread AT ONE OF MY FAVORITE BLOGS, WHICH IS MAINTAINED BY A BLOGGER THAT DOESN'T REALLY APPRECIATE BEING ACKNOWLEDGED, BUT  I'M DOING IT ANYWAY (and only slightly edited).  The commentor wrote (among other things):

Bob says to Bill:

"You know, the other day I was really embarrassed. There was this gorgeous cashier at the ticket window, and when it was my turn, I asked her for 'two pickets to Tittsburgh

Bill says:

"I know what you mean. Yesterday I was having breakfast with my wife and I meant to say 'pass the salt,' but instead I said, 'You miserable witch! You ruined my life!!!'"

  1. What? No link? You really ARE offended, ain'tcha? ;-)

  2. Okay...thanks for the reminder. I fixed it!

  3. Heh. Fixed, indeed. I am humbled.

  4. Well, you oughta be! Doesn't "humble" mean "low to the ground," or something?

(Seems like I read that in a child's book about a hundert years ago.)

So, you and I both qualify...

Actually, I should apologize for the link. My links tend to drive traffic through the floor.

  5. Doesn't "humble" mean "low to the ground," or something?

Yep, that would be me. Especially the "or sumthin'" bit(s).

Don't cuss nobody out, okay?
