I am so far behind...

.

Seriously, I am.  For the past 5 weeks, I've been working short handed, and workin' overtime.  By the time I get home, I have almost no energy left to work on my own biz, or things that need doin' around here.

I'm starting to understand what I always heard about getting older.  You just REALLY DO NOT have the "ummph" you did when you were younger.

I'm not complaining, mind you.  I love my job.  I'll probably do it until I croak, or they fire me.

It's just that I'm one of those people that feels constantly uneasy when I'm not caught up.

I know that eventually I will get even with the tasks.  And, when I do, that unease will be instantly gone.

I'm just living with it presently...hopefully not forever.

I started trying to find a pithy quote about my situation.

Found a couple.

I'm so far behind that I will never die.

I'm so far behind, I think I'm in first place.

When we lived out West in rancher country, I used to hear 'em say, "I'm so dang busy, I don't know if I found a rope, or lost my horse!"

Granddaddy used to say, "I'm so busy, I don't know if I'm washin', or hangin' out! (That's a reference to a clothes line, for you young people).

Ya' got any other good ones?

I'd be interested to add 'em to my repertoire.

Got one day off today to try to get at least something accomplished, then back at it Sunday am.

Y'all have a good weekend, and thanks for stopping by!  I appreciate y'all more than y'all know.

Inertia. It gets ya every time.

As for busy quotes... I got nuthin'. It's a combo of not bein' fully caffeinated, inertia, and CRS. Mostly CRS.

  2. There's the old standby "I'm busier than a one-legged man in a kickin' contest".
