MUSLIMS OFFENDED BY NEW LIQUOR STORE POLICY BRING LAWSUIT

Hey y'all, I found this on the Redneck Press...thought I'd pass it along.

Islamic group offended by new store policy brings lawsuit

A lawsuit was filed in a New Orleans Federal Court today by an Islamic group against the owner of a chain of Crescent City liquor stores.

The "Council to Heal Islamic Pain in the Satanic United States" (CHIPSUS) has sued Pierre "Moonpie" Pierre, owner of five "Pierre Pierre's Liquor, Wine, and Wings" stores in the New Orleans area over his recently implemented "Nobody allowed in this store with their face covered up! Love, Pierre" policy.

One month ago, Pierre implemented a policy of allowing no one to enter the stores wearing any kind of facial covering, clearly posting signs on the entrance doors of his stores.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Nilofar Qalat, a female immigrant from Pakistan, and alleges that her civil rights have been violated by Pierre Pierres' policy.

The suit alleges that Pierres' policy effectively excludes access to his liquor stores by Islamic females that adhere to strict Islamic standards.

The spokesman for CHIPSUS, Muhammad Mohamed told the RP "This is clearly a violation of the civil rights of all women everywhere that adhere to Sharia law. In a blatant attempt to exclude burka-clad women from his liquor stores, this Catholic coonass Pierre has shown his disdain for basic dignity, equal treatment for all, religious freedom, and for The Prophet."

Reached for comment by the RP, Pierre told us that it was nothing personal against Muslim women that caused him to implement his new policy. "It's a public safety issue. It's an insurance issue. It's a law enforcement issue, too. What dese people don't understan is that you just can't let folks come in a liquor store with they face covered up."

Pierre continued, "We're a fat target for robbry. Everybody knows that liquor stores keep tons of cash on hand. We got to. We cash payroll checks, tax refund checks, Western Union transfers and all. We get robbed about 4 or 5 times a year. We at least want da pitchers to show da cops."

The controversy began two weeks ago when Nilofar Qalat, a Pakistani immigrant attempted to enter the Pierre Pierre's location on Poydras. She was told by employee Billy Boudreaux that she would have to leave. An argument, then a scuffle ensued, causing several bottles of Southern Comfort and the rack holding The National Enquirer to be destroyed.

"It was pretty intense there for awhile. I asked her 'Can't you read the sign on the door? It says 'nobody allowed in this store with their face covered up, love Pierre!' " Boudreaux recounted. "I'll tell you what, those little Islamic gals can sure put up a fight." Boudreaux, still sporting a gash on his right cheek laughed about the incident, but later said he still has nightmares about the whole thing. "It was like a battle with Darth Vader or somethin'...very inetense."

Pierre told us, "Look, dis is Da Big Easy. It's Halloween about half da year down here. Den when Mardi Gras kicks off, we got thousands of more idiots wearing maxes. Da problem just gets worser and worser all da time. I got to do somethin!" He continued, "If I make a exception for Burkas, den every crack-ho lookin to knock me off will join the mosque and get a uniform. I gotta draw da line somewhere."

We talked to the woman at the heart of the lawsuit at her home in the Central City area.

Nilofar Qalat told us that the incident has destroyed her basic dignity. "It was terrible to be ejected from Pierre's Liquor, Wine, and Wings for adherence to Allah and His Prophet. My dignity is crushed already that I am sent by my husband Fahim to purchase the evil tonics. But as his slave, I must make certain that he is not observed entering a place of such satanic wares.

Then to be forced to defile myself by disrobing before entering the establishment...that is double defilement...it was more than I could bear. This is why Pierre must change his policy. That is why I went to The Council to Heal Islamic Pain in the Satanic United States for help. America is giving me much pain, and Pierre is in violation of my..." At this point Nilofar began to rifle through some papers and continued "...civil rights."

As in most Federal Civil Rights cases, experts say it could take years for this case to work its' way through the courts. But Pierre Pierre says he's not giving in. "Nope, these CHIPSUS guys can kiss my fanny in Maison Blanche's window. Burkas ain't gonna be allowed!"

It seems that Nilofar isn't either. "I must win this battle. I have no ill will toward Pierre. I just have to be able to enter his establishment fully robed." I pressed her as to why, and she confessed, "Because I am very ugly...and he's the only guy that sells my brand of Turkish smokes."
