SOCCER RESULTS...THEM 1 - US 1!

Hey, we tied! Just got back from the second game of the season.

Pauls' soccer team played a real good game tonight. The boys are finally "getting it." Our Eagles defense stayed back where they were supposed to (mostly), and our mid-fielders kept the Panthers from playing the whole game in our end of the field.

Paul did really well. He passed a steal off once, clogged up his side of the field, and didn't make any big mistakes. He seems to be understanding the game much better.

We could have lost...it was funny. One real good player on the other team busted out of the pack with the ball, and our defense was nowhere to be seen. Paul was not on the field playing defense at the time, so I can't blame him. This boy had a clear shot to the goal. Poor old Alphonso (our big goal keeper) was helpless, and he knew it. That boy left and right-footed that ball, and got to about 10 feet from the goal, and kicked it right in Alphonsos' gut.

There was great rejoicing by the Eagles fans. Alphonso will be bragging tomorrow at school about his big save...

I bragged on him. I was proud for all the boys. It was alot of fun.
