Well, my beloved LSU Tigers finished off what I would call a "complete season" yesterday in Little Rock against the pigs.
We had done just about everything you can do this season as a team...kicked off a malcontent quarterback preseason that probably would have lead us back to the top...beat the crud out of powerhouses like App State, North Texas, and Tulane...played pretty good but lost to 'Bama & Georgia...had a 30 point comeback against the mighty Men of Troy (?)...and used 3 different QB's in the process.
The only thing we hadn't done all year was blow a 30-14 lead (this season just wouldn't be "complete" without it). Well, my boys took care of that Friday. A stinkin' 30-14 lead against stinkin' Arkansas, and we couldn't seal the deal.
Us 30 - Them 31. You can read about it here if you want to...I didn't want to.
Season over at 7-5 (all 5 losses in the SEC). Yea, we'll go to some bowl game. What have they got now, 40 of 'em? But that's okay. I like college football. And I especially like to watch two 6-6 teams playing before 12,000 rabid fans and 40,000 empty seats.
Well, I've lived through worse. I've seen the 3-8 years before. One good thing though is that we might have found a QB. That Jordan Jefferson fellow (yep, he's got two last names) that played yesterday showed a lot of promise. He's a true freshman, and I thought kept his head pretty good. The only problem that the boy has is that when he throws a pass, it's like Nolan Ryan in the 9th going for a no-hitter. He's gonna kill somebody with that ball if he doesn't develop some touch...but I bet he can.
Well, we'll get 'em next year...
