WHAT DOES CHAMBLISS' SENATE WIN IN GEORGIA REALLY MEAN?

I'll spell it out for y'all.

A.B.S.O.L.U.T.E.L.Y. N.U.T.H.I.N.!

I listened yesterday to the conservative talking heads, and read some articles about it, and I have yet to hear anybody just come out and tell the truth. It don't mean nuthin!

There were two main themes I heard. The first is that this election was a real test of the country's confidence in BarackO'. Give me a stinkin' break! Hello...Hello...does anybody remember that the less than conservative stalwart John McCain beat Obama in Georgia by 5 points?

Did anybody notice that Dec. 2 is not Nov.4? Y'all might remember that Nov. 4 was the day when every motivated Obama voter flooded the polls (Georgia included). If the Senate election had been held alongside the Presidential election Chambliss would still have won...maybe not by 20 points, but probably by more than McCain did.

The second theme I keep hearing and reading is "Whew...the Democrats didn't get a filibuster-proof majority...whew...the country is safe for awhile...whew...whew!!!"

"Whew" my rosie red fanny!

If anybody really believes that Chuck Hagle, and Olympia Snowe, and Susan Collins, and Ben Nelson, and yes...our fearless leader John McCain are going to hold together in lock step with the Republican minority to filibuster bad legislation, or bad judges, or bad breath...well, I want to sample what they're smoking.

From FoxNews: Minnesota -- where a recount is under way -- now remains the only unresolved Senate contest in the country. But the stakes there are significantly lower now that Georgia has put a 60-seat Democratic supermajority out of reach.

It don't mean n.u.t.h.i.n.!
