Well, it seems that the Gray Bar Hotel known as Angola has released another guest way too soon...about 20 years too soon.
One Billy Ray Washington (I will not post his picture, due to the fact that it makes me vomit) was released from the LA State Penitentiary in August of 2008, after serving 30 years of a 50 year sentence for rape, and attempted rape of juveniles.
Evidently, Billy Ray got older during those years, and his tastes changed. Oh no...don't get me wrong...Billy Ray is still a rapist. He just decided to start raping old ladies in their 80's. I guess old ladies can't fight back as hard, or scream as loud as little kids.
DNA evidence has linked him to two rapes in Shreveport of old ladies. You can read the whole miserable story here if you have the stomach for it.
Can a leopard change his spots? I don't know. Sometimes I think so. I've known a bunch of ex-cons that straightened up. I've had an ex-gang leader, "almost murderer," prison parolee live in my house with me, The Mrs., and our boys while we tried to help him on his journey to the right path. He's doing just fine now, 15 years later.
But there is something about a rapist...that demon is especially evil. Well, maybe we'll finally learn not to release demon-possessed rapists 20 years too early one of these days. God forgive me, but probably some lawmaker's old Momma, or Grandma will have to suffer through it before we actually learn that 50 equals 50...and that leopards usually stay spotted.
