Will it never end? The evil legacy of the Cheney/Bush administration grows even darker. We all know that Cheney sent Bush over to Africa where he put his finger in the ocean, began to swirl it while chanting his demonic mantra "Hail Katrina...blacks must suffer...Hail Katrina...blacks must suffer..."
Even though Bush was able to conjure Katrina, as with everything else, he was incompetent, and missed his target...accidentally destroying white folks property in his buddy Haley Barbour's State of Mississippi. So, it fell to Cheney himself to hijack a barge on the Ponchartrain, pack it with explosives and detonate it, destroying the lives of as many black folks as possible.
From the New Orleans Times-Picayune:
End of rent help is a disaster for many Hurricane Katrina victims
I am sorry, but I don't know if I can read one more of these kind of articles without taking a cab to the Horseshoe Casino & Hotel, riding the elevator to the roof, and throwing myself off.
From the article:
As a longstanding disaster rent subsidy ends this month, thousands of families might be unable to pay their March rent.
The federal Disaster Housing Assistance Program, known as DHAP, will no longer pay rent for nearly 15,000 New Orleans-area households and thousands of other families displaced by Katrina, including more than 5,000 in the Houston area.
How long, oh Lord? How long will Cheney/Bush's evil deeds continue to afflict their innocent victims? Let me educate y'all on something. The DHAP is you...you will no longer pay rent for tens of thousands of Cheney/Bush victims.
"We don't know what we're going to do. I guess we're going to have to become a burden to our children, " said Charles Ricord, the disabled man from St. Bernard. Charles and Cynthia Ricord moved into a house near the Murphy Oil plant in July, supported by DHAP, since their only income is his $637 monthly disability check. On one wall are family photos. All else remains in boxes.
"We don't want to unpack, " he said. "We don't know when we'll be moving again."
Shame on you Bush, and your evil puppet master Cheney! Mr. Ricord, I feel badly for you. I really do. But when you say, "I guess we're going to have to become a burden to our children," I get the cold-fish face-slapped reds! It may not sound Christian, but I would rather you be a burden to your children than a burden to my children. I'm planning on hogging all that action myself one day, thank you very much...if you and your kind haven't bankrupted them by then.
The Times-Picayune can't just tell the sad story of all these thousands of folks without proving my point of the continuing evil Cheney/Bush legacy.
"On the Bush administration's last day, federal housing officials refused to continue the program."
Will it never end?
Here's the fun part. Katrina hit in August of 2005. It is January 2009. Section 8 housing was designed to put poor folks in a Class C unit for six months, a Class B unit for six months, and then a Class A unit for six months. Assistance was to end in an 18 month period.
ReplyDeleteOf course, HUD and other agencies have never followed the rules anyway. I have a lady that lived in one of the apartment complexes that I managed that had lived there for 22 years. Two of her daughters lived there in their own apartments. Three units for one family. And none of them worked.
Welfare and government assistance has all but destroyed the black community in Mississippi and I am guessing anywhere else, too. Sad that they cannot see their accepted chains of slavery that their ancestors fought so hard to remove.
Amen Two Dogs! All the wasted effort...the wasted lives...the wasted dreams of generations of brave black folks.
ReplyDeleteThis isn't even Section-8 stuff. This was a gozillion dollar stop-gap after Cheney blew up the levees. These folks aren't even all the way up to Section-8 level yet. But I guess you got to start somewhere...
Dagonne!
ReplyDeleteThe solution(s)
White, Green, Asian, Martian or Black... (I'm not sure that Democrats will understand, so I'm leaving them out....)
1. Don't screw men who won't be daddys. (The corollary, of course, is don't screw women who won't be mommies.)
2. Stay in school and learn. You won't go anywhere without being able to read, write, speak reasonably well, and do basic ciphering.
3. Get a job, don't expect the government to help. All they ever do is make it worse. This, of course, requires the will to work, which doesn't seem to be universally distributed.
4. If all else fails, join the military. That's the biggest meritocracy we have going in this country. If you do your job and do it reasonably well, if you go along and get along, if you stay out of trouble, you will have a career, a family, and a great retirement deal. If you fail in the military all you need do is look in the mirror to see the problem.
5. Most of all, stop blaming everyone for your troubles. We ALL have troubles. Deal with them. Don't poop in your own back yard and expect someone to clean up after you.
Amen and Amen!
