BUSH LIED!!!!!

PEOPLE DIED LIVED!!!

Well, our sub-human, avowed enemies died...but real people lived.

Okay, I've been planning to get to this for a few days. I have just been too busy to do the subject justice with my usual half-hearted effort. So here we go!

Much has been made over the last several days in the press over the Obama administration release of information about the techniques used to extract information from our sub-human avowed enemies at Guantanamo. Most of the debate focuses on whether water-boarding, or threatening some maniac with a caterpillar (man, don't you know he feels like a WUSS now that everybody in the world knows he's askeered of bugs...nyuk), or subjecting these demons to sleep deprivation and Celine Dion music qualifies as "torture."

Truthfully, I have one thought on that. BIG! HAIRY! DEAL! I don't care what the CIA, or the US military does to these cretins. In fact, I can imagine in my evil mind a few things I would do that would make them beg for water-boarding, or scorpions...or as our feathered friends the Indians loved...honey and fire ants. The retarded idea that the jihadists will now really, really, really torture our guys because we threatened their wussy leader with a caterpillar is just laughable...

And there is much being made over President Obama's decision not to fight the ACLU over the release of photos of said techniques. There are many thousands of blogs that will opine on the foolishness of this...and they will do a much better job than I'll ever be able to.

What has been rattling around my skull is the leftie outrage over the fact that the Bush administration "lied" about these techniques...their severity, and frequency, etc.

So, let's start with the basics. My word book defines "lie":

noun (that's a technical term that means a person, place, or thing...just so ya' know)

1. A false statement deliberately presented as being true; a falsehood.
2. Something meant to deceive or give a wrong impression.

So, did the Bush administration "lie" about what was going on at GTMO? Probably. But let me propose that any Commander in Chief, General, Field Officer, Sergeant, or slick-sleeved Boot that will not "lie" in time of war is foolish at best, and dangerous at worst.

Lying is part of the strategy of warfare. What's the old expression? "If you find yourself in a fair fight, you need to change your tactics." There is nothing off-limits when it comes to defeating your enemy. This is something that the lefties do not seem to understand. Well, maybe they do understand it and just don't believe we really are at war with these islamic angels.

History is filled with examples of intentionally deceptive information (lies) being released in order to screw up "the enemy" during time of war. Normally, those lies would be radioed, or messaged by courier to deceive the enemy as to fake troop positions, fake battle plans, etc. But now we live in a different world. We are fighting an enemy with no national allegiance...an enemy with no uniform...no tank corps...no Navy...no Air Force (except for the planes they might hijack).

I have my doubts that our enemy has the capability of capturing our military communications. I imagine that they do have some spies embedded in our forces, and in the forces of our allies...but for the most part I figure they rely on CNN, CBS, FOX News, the BBC, Al Jazeera, and the internet for their information.

In this war we find ourselves in, I would call George Bush (or any Commander In Chief) "irresponsible" if he did not lie to the media occasionally to deek the opponent. I mean, why does a boxer fake with his left, and then right-cross to the jaw? Because sometimes it works.

This is the point of this whole rambling post:

This war is different than any other we have fought as a nation. It is not possible now to "lie" to our enemy, and "not lie" to the American public. IT'S JUST NOT!

There is a lot of blustering from the Obama administration about prosecuting the torturers (cough cough), and the lawyers that advised "W" that it was okay. But that is all fluffy poodle clippings. It ain't gonna happen. We know from what current Obama administration officials have said that these "techniques" resulted in very valuable information, and in the thwarting of attacks on Los Angeles, airliners headed from England to US, etc. etc. etc.

I have one "hope" rattling around in my rapidly balding cranium. And I know it is a very slim hope at best, but it could be what's happening. I hope that Obama is lying. I hope that he is releasing this garbage about Celine Dion music, caterpillars, and water-boarding (which our Special Forces guys undergo as a part of their training BTW)...and that he is showing outrage over it all as a decoy to our enemy.

I "hope" that he has much more information, about much more severe techniques that he's keeping under his vest...as not to allow the raghead, bug-wuss, suicide squads to prepare for it. It's just a hope.

I guess Bush lied. Shame on him! I ain't never done that myself...

  1. For some reason, you and I are on the same thought plane. I have been thinking about writing a post about this waterboarding stuff. I'm glad I didn't.

  2. Naw TD, go ahead and write a post about it. It will get read by far more than my 7 readers, and I'm sure it will be much more entertaining!

  3. You are the voice in my head, the one that I can't put into words. You know, that one.

After all, it's not like the people, ahem, we "torture", ahem, are only guilty of running traffic lights. You know they're just waiting for a chance to torture us rednecks. 'Cos we are scary.

  4. Thanks Staci! But, I send you my condolences... If I am the voice in your head, you are messed up BAD...and need help.

I visited your blog, and I will confess that I learned a whole lot about Oklahoma that I did not know. I know a bunch of Okies. My beloved Mother-in-law was born and raised on the dusty plains on a farm near Wetumka in the 1930's and 40's. Wetumka is down near Wewoka, and Weleka...I ain't kidding! You might not be able to find it on a map, but it's close to Henryetta, Holdenville, Shawnee, and Okemah...I ain't kidding!

I was particularly interested in the successful Okies. Heck, all of my wife's Uncles, Aunts, and cousins that grew up there are successful...Generals in the Air Force, rich Alaska oil barons, shipping magnates, etc. They all grew up poor, but knew how to WORK!

And Staci, YOU CAN put that "voice in your head" into words. Just start, and those words will break loose. I'm sure you have good tales to tell, and good life experiences to share with the rest of us. We all need each other...if you know what I mean.
