Arlington National Cemetery to host official "send off" to hell...

It might bother you that a worthless sack of crap like Ted Kennedy will be interred alongside real heroes at our most recognized National Cemetery. But look on the bright side. You'll know what site to visit in Washington when you've worked up a really big loogie, and can't find an appropriate spot to deposit it.

Oh, Kennedy deserves a burial at Arlington all right (by the regs). You can read them here: Qualifications for burial at Arlington National Cemetery

These are the rules that allow for it...

(e) Persons who have held any of the following positions, provided their last period of active duty (other than for training) as a member of the Armed Forces terminated honorably:

(1) An elective office of the United States Government.

Kennedy did serve in the Army, and certainly held elective office in the US Government. (Massachusetts...sheesh!)

Just in case you have forgotten about Teddy's military service, and what got him into the US Army, I will let Mr. Wikipedia remind ya'!

Kennedy entered Harvard College, and in his spring semester was assigned to the athlete-oriented Winthrop House, where his brothers had also lived.[11] He played as a large, fearless offensive and defensive end on the freshman football team.[6] In May 1951, anxious about maintaining his eligibility for athletics for the next year,[6] he had a friend who was knowledgeable on the subject take his Spanish language examination for him.[12] The two were quickly caught and expelled, but in a standard Harvard treatment for cases of this kind, they were told they could apply for readmission in a year or two after demonstrating good behavior.[12]

Kennedy enlisted in the United States Army in June 1951.[12] Following basic training at Fort Dix, he requested assignment to Fort Holabird for Army Intelligence training, but was dropped after a few weeks without explanation.[12] He went to Camp Gordon for training in the Military Police Corps.[12] In June 1952, he was assigned to the honor guard at SHAPE headquarters in Paris.[6][12] His father's political connections ensured he was not deployed to the ongoing Korean War.[6][13] While stationed in Europe he travelled extensively on weekends and climbed the Matterhorn.[14] He was discharged in March 1953 as a private first class.[12][14]

Yesterday, Basil quipped: "I wonder if Ted Kennedy will make it across the River Styx without drowning anyone."

And: "I'm seeing flags at half-staff? Did that jackass in the White House order that? For Ted Kennedy? Flags at half-staff just isn't enough. I'm going to half-submerge my car."

Yeah, I reckon BigHead Ted technically qualifies. But his negative addition sure does diminish the sum...

  1. I'll neither watch nor listen to any of the drivel over the next few days. He's dead, and I hope Mary Jo meets him at the Gates with his invite downward.

  2. That jackass in the White House did indeed order the flags at half-staff. I got a copy of his proclamation on my email at work. Probably some kind of "mining" virus with it, I reckon.

  3. I agree with you, Arlington is not the place for him in my opinion.
