They make hypodermic needles for this...

This is a sad story. It truly is. As all eight of you know, I am a huge dog lover. I love dogs, and truly consider them "man's best friend." (except for those that rip the throats of innocent children open, and maul them to death...as almost happened to #2 son many years ago...but I've already told you that story)

In an odd (and sad) story, Louie, the blind and deaf 16 year-old mutt who was being cared for by the CEO of the Richmond, VA Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (known by you regular civilians as the SPCA) finally slipped the surly bonds of earth, and went on to "doggie heaven," due to intense heat while being held hostage in a hot car with the windows rolled up. The whole hideous story is here.

Seriously, this is a comedy of errors (even though there is nothing funny about it). This chick that runs the Richmond, VA SPCA really had no idea that poor old Louie was in the car. Her hubby thought he was doing the right thing by putting poor old blind, deaf, Louie the mutt in there before wife-mate headed off to prevent animal cruelty.

Who could have imagined that putting a 16 year-old, blind, deaf "best friend" in a car without notifying the driver that Louie was on board could have ended in such a tragedy?

They make needles for dogs like Louie. If you love dogs as I do, and you want to prevent "cruelty," don't subject a poor, 16 year-old hound (that's 112 in human years btw), that is blind and deaf to any more days of suffering. The "Vet" knows what to do. If you love 'em, let 'em go.

Pour old Louie...
