College Football Question of the Day...

At the half, Missouri leads Furman 42-0.

So, the question is:

"Why in the name of all things holy in College Football is Mizzou playing Furman?"

A follow-up question:

"What is a Furman?"

  1. "What is a Furman?"

Now I could be mistaken but I think it's one of those fellas/gals that come dually equipped, hence your "Furman".

  3. It is a two sided answer:

Mizzou is playing Furman for an easy win.

Furman is playing Mizzou for the payday for their athletic program.

With more an more of the "Big Name" schools padding their schedules with walkovers, a school with any shot of being a contender has to play the game, rather than playing all formidable opponents.

  4. A "Furman" is
    (a) a yeti
    (b) someone that gets chased all over town by PETA and has paint thrown at 'em
    (c) a cop who allegedly (not) planted evidence to get OJ into trouble (that he managed on his own)
    (d) cannon fodder for Mizzou
