The Shreveport Times is reporting that a memorial honoring Lt. Erwin Bleckley, and Lt. Harold Goettler for their bravery during WWI will be unveiled in Remicourt, France on Wednesday. I reckon some of the frogs still remember...
God forgive us when we take for granted the wonderful lives we live, due to the brave souls that have for centuries paid the ultimate price for it.
Here is a bio of Lt. Bleckley, from the Kansas National Guard Hall of Fame. Well worth the read.

Great Post. I have been a member of the Kansas National Guard Museum Association for years. Thanks for the memory. MUD
ReplyDeleteHey MUD, good deal man! I saw this article in our local news, and thought about you.
ReplyDeleteI knew that you were Kansas National Guard. But I didn't know that you afilliated with the historical side of things. Cool man...really cool.
Bleckley was one heckuvaguy...a real hero. It makes me happy to know that even 90 years later folks still give a flip.
