Class Reunion...

Class reunions are great! Some of the best fun I've had has been at my class reunions. If you don't go to yours, you are missing a real treat.

Some of the visitors to Andy's Place are my old classmates from high school (Bossier High School 1977). And, I have also discovered recently that there are some of y'all that share Fair Park High School 1961 (Shreveport, LA) as your class.

Well, this video was sent to me by one of your fellow grads, my brother-in-law, Jimmy. It's one of the two cutest videos I've seen in the last 72 hours.

Y'all watch this...if you've ever been to a class reunion (especially a 30th or so), you'll enjoy it.

  1. Wichita East High School class of 1965 will hold their 45th reunion this fall and I can't wait to see if I can recognize any of my classmates. I think I went to the 25th and we had an expectant mother and a grandmother from the same class. MUD

  2. That vid is great!

I haven't been to a class reunion, ever. The biggest reason is I graduated from a HS in SoCal, left nearly immediately, and never went back to that godforsaken place. It's also kinda hard to make a reunion when they're doing it in Long Beach and you happen to be on the Black Sea coast in Turkey (true happening, that).

  3. MUD, you're gonna have a great time. Trust me. You will be surprised at how quick the light bulb comes on when you see your old mates. I've only had a 30th as of yet, but I guess our memory is better than we think. I only had trouble recognizing one or two classmates (those one or two that had not changed much.)

Buck, I understand. My class had a WHOLE LOT of military kids that graduated and moved on...their parents settled elsewhere, etc. But, it's surprising how many have made it back for the reunions.

Pam's Daddy (an Arkie) graduated from Oxnard High in SoCal back in the early 50's. I don't think he ever made one of the reunions either. But, he did always make his military reunions (they were held here at Barksdale). They are good fun. In fact, I'd not be blogging today if it wasn't for my 30th HS reunion (long story).

I'm thinkin' that some folks wish I'd have skipped that one. Just sayin'...

  4. ...he did always make his military reunions

Ah, now you're guilting me out. I've only been in one unit that has ever had reunions and a great good friend of mine (we go back over 30 years and shared a LOT together) is the prime mover in setting up both of them. I'm sure she's quite disappointed in me for not making either reunion. There's a third coming up in a year or so and I might make that one. Or I might not. As much as I love my friend there's just not a whole helluva lot I'm interested in at the nexus of the NoDak, Montana, and Saskatchewan borders. Search on "Fortuna" sometime at EIP and you'll see what I'm on about.

  5. Heh. Nice Andy. It dovetails nicely with the cartoon you posted too.

On class reunions, I really did not want to go to my 10 year reunion, for many reasons, but I ended up being very glad I did. Given a chance, I'll be attending future reunions.

  6. Hey Cosmic, glad you liked it. And, I'm glad you make the reunions.

I missed the 10th...loooooooooong story. But 20 was great, and 30 even better. But, as a result of the 30th, the blogging world has been vexed. It's all your fault. ;)
