Hey look, I had decided that I was gonna stay completely away from news, politics, etc. today.
But, there is news out of Iowa of a dam rupture. FoxNews is reporting on the tragedy. I actually read about this earlier today on a blog that I have well stationed on my nifty The Gooble Reader®, written by Dr. Buzzo. Mr. DepletedCranium/Dr. Buzzo has an excellent piece about all of this. I know I've recommended DepletedCranium before, but just in case you missed it, put this guy on your The Gooble Reader®
I know that a lot of y'all think that I don't pay attention to science, and geography, and geopolitics, and other junk with long names. But, I do.

And I know those folks are going through some trying times, and hope they all fare well, but I have never heard of private citizens being able to build, own , and operate a dam.
