Stolen from a comment thread AT ONE OF MY FAVORITE BLOGS, WHICH IS MAINTAINED BY A BLOGGER THAT DOESN'T REALLY APPRECIATE BEING ACKNOWLEDGED, BUT I'M DOING IT ANYWAY (and only slightly edited). The commentor wrote (among other things):
Bob says to Bill:
"You know, the other day I was really embarrassed. There was this gorgeous cashier at the ticket window, and when it was my turn, I asked her for 'two pickets to Tittsburgh.'"
Bill says:
"I know what you mean. Yesterday I was having breakfast with my wife and I meant to say 'pass the salt,' but instead I said, 'You miserable witch! You ruined my life!!!'"

What? No link? You really ARE offended, ain'tcha? ;-)
ReplyDeleteOkay...thanks for the reminder. I fixed it!
ReplyDeleteHeh. Fixed, indeed. I am humbled.
ReplyDeleteWell, you oughta be! Doesn't "humble" mean "low to the ground," or something?
ReplyDelete(Seems like I read that in a child's book about a hundert years ago.)
So, you and I both qualify...
Nyuk!
Actually, I should apologize for the link. My links tend to drive traffic through the floor.

ReplyDeleteYep, that would be me. Especially the "or sumthin'" bit(s).
