PITBULLS NEED TO GO...

I know I'm gonna tick off some Rednecks, but Pitbull Dogs need to go. Alot of folks didn't even know about Pitbulls until that Michael Vick fellow got in trouble for dog fighting. It goes on all over the US, but probably more down here.

There are a bunch of fellows that fight dogs. I always wondered "how come?" I know some of them use it as a (let me get my word book...) enterprise. But I really think that some of them just like to watch one animal kill another. They spend a whole lot of time, money, and energy putting together an event where one animal kills the other. But that's a whole lot of trouble when you can just look at it on the Discovery Channel, or Championship Wrestling, or Al Jazeera.

Down in Central Louisiana on Sunday (Beauregard Parish), a 24 year old lady got killed by her own two Pitbulls while she was asleep. You can see the article here

"Deputies reported responding to a 911 call at 6:49 p.m. Sunday from Jason Chapman, 586 Martin-Baggett Road, Longville. Chapman said he left for work about 10 a.m. Sunday while his wife was sleeping. He said the two dogs stayed in the house with the couple and also slept with them. When he returned home about 6:45 p.m., he said, he found Kelli Chapman in the bedroom where it appeared she had been mauled by the dogs, deputies reported."

Now, my knee-jerk reaction was..."Serves her right...anybody stupid enough to own one of those killers deserves what they get...good...clean up the gene pool!" I'm sorry to admit that, but I really don't have much sympathy for folks stupid enough to invite killers into their home. I prayed it through though, and my Christianity finally overcome my humanity, and I feel badly for that poor woman and what she must have gone through.

I have spent my whole adult life hearing about adults, and worst of all little kids getting killed by these animals. When I was a much younger man, my 3 year-old son was honed in on by a Pitbull that had broken a huge chain that he was tied up on. In one of my few "brave moments," I was able to jerk the boy out of the way, and kick the worthless animal in the head with the pointy toe of my boot until his stupid owner got there and grabbed the big old chain (thank God I was wearing my boots). The boy would have been dead if we hadn't had the grace of God with us.

I know that a bunch of folks say "Well, it's only how they're brought up...it's only if you make 'em mean...they're really sweet dogs if...if...if..." But I don't buy it. Pitbulls are demonic. There is something in that breed that needs to be eliminated from the dog population.

I'm not saying we ought to destroy all of them right now. I know that alot of folks have Pitbulls that are their pets, and as much as I despise Pitbulls, I wouldn't want to kill somebody's pet. But I have looked at this too long, and have heard, read, and seen too many horror stories.

I think we need to take all living Pitbulls, and have them either sprayed, or nutured. That way they can live out their natural lives, but get their geneticals out of the mix. Y'all know that I'm Libertarian, and believe that anybody ought to be able to do anything, or own anything as long as it doesn't harm someone else. But these animals are a hazard to everybody...little kids, neighbors, strangers, and even their own owners.

This breed needs to go, before they kill again, and again, and again, and again, and again...
