MITT ROMNEY'S FATAL FLAWS...

Why do so many folks dislike Mitt Romney? I have been studying on this for a good while, and I think I got it. There are just a gazillion people out there that can't stand his guts. As I understand it, the Republican candidates (even the ones that have quit) all like each other personally. But they don't like Mitt.


At the start of the campaign heating up, Mitt's Mormon religion was a big issue. Now, I know that alot of folks won't vote for him because of that one thing. But I know a whole lot of Bible Rednecks like me that are for the man. I don't even believe that the Bible folks dislike him "personally" because of his Mormonism.

Some wise man once said, "You can't be too rich, too successful, or too good-looking." Well, obviously that wiseguy wasn't running for President of the US.



I believe that folks dislike Mitt because he is rich, successful, and good-looking. And I believe it is because the rest of us ain't. The public at large just can't identify with a guy like Mitt. Those are Mitts' fatal flaws. Looking back at the Presidents in my lifetime, none of them had all three of those fatal flaws.

Sure, Ronald Reagan was good-looking, but not really ultra-rich, and not really successful. As much as I loved the man, he was a "B" actor, and not a gozillionaire like Romney.

Clinton was as poor as a church-mouse...ugly...married to an ugly woman...and never made a nickel in the real world.

Daddy Bush was pretty good-looking, but not fabulously wealthy, and only had to beat Dukakis (raccoon boy). "W" is good-looking, but wasn't really all that successful in business. I mean, he couldn't even hang on to The Rangers.

Jimmy Carter was just mud ugly. He did pretty good in the farming business, but not fabulously wealthy.

Richard Nixon...not real handsome.

Gerald Ford...a nice enough guy, but not real handsome. And you can't really even count him seeing as he never won the Presidency in an election.

LBJ...ugly as home-made sin...married a little bit of money, but not much of a success outside of government.

John Fitzgerald Kennedy...now there was a good-looking President. But his wealth came to him when his Momma squeezed him out. He was a war hero for sure, but never really pursued business success on his own.

Truthfully, looking back at it all, Truman was "common looking" if not unattractive. Ike was old and bald. Roosevelt might have looked good to folks at the time, but he had a face kind of like John Kerry, and I think his wealth was inherited, too.

So I think that the people that don't like Mitt personally have a (let me get my word book...) resentful outlook. He is what they ain't.

Today is Super Tuesday, but we don't get to vote here in Louisiana until Saturday. I think the Mrs. is voting for Mitt despite his fatal flaws (She is a Republican, and she likes rich, handsome, successful men...obviously!)

I can't vote in the Republican Primary due to the fact that the Louisiana Republican Party has messed me over. I told y'all about that before.

But I'll be pulling for Mitt, even if he is richer than Croesus, way smarter with business stuff than me, and (let me get my word book...) astoundingly handsome.

Ain't that a ball of hard candy in your windpipe? Rich, smart, and handsome...and folks still don't want you in charge!
