Early on in the Presidential campaign my beloved Senator David Vitter (R) New Orleans signed on with Rudy Giulliani as a hearty supporter. David took on the role of Rudys' Southern Senate campaign manager.
Now, David took a big-time beating here in Louisiana over it! Almost nobody that supports David would pick Rudy for a fishing buddy, much less for the Republican nominee for President. We were all scratching our heads over it. But then it became pretty clear that David Vitter was angling to be the VP nominee.
And he would have been a good one! I love David. He is right on every issue. He is pro-life, pro-America, anti-weakening US sovereignty (anti-UN), pro-military, and a tax-cutting fiend! He woulda been "the perfect balance" on a ticket with a liberal New Yorker. But it wasn't to be. When the news hit that he was involved with the DC Madam...it was all over for any "higher office" hopes. Of course, Rudy fell apart real quick anyway. Man, did he make some bad choices! If I'm remembering right, Larry Craig was on his team, too...could be wrong though.
Well, it looks like New York Governor Eliot Spitzer can forget being Vice President of the Democrats..or even Governor for very long maybe. Looks like he might have to stand trial for transporting a woman across State lines for the purpose of prostitution.
I feel bad for Eliot. I know he's a little "snot" that is awful hard to take, but I still feel bad for him and his wife and younguns just like I did for David. It's sad to me when a man is unfaithful to his wife and family. I'm praying he'll get straightened out like David did. Just a rambling thought...
