Hey y'all, it's not really a football score, it's a soccer game score.
Our Eagles beat the stuffing out of the Bucs tonight. I just got home a few minutes ago. Paul did real good. He stayed in his defensive position, blocked off everybody that came to his side, and kicked the ball a couple of times.
I don't know what has got into our boys, but they are playing like pros. I reckon it's all the practice.
I have previously expressed my confusion at why the Europeans, South Americans, Africans, and Asians love this game so much. It always amazes me that they can be so excited about a 1-0 soccer game.
Well, even a Redneck can learn a thing or two. After watching a 14-0 blowout, I can honestly say that I enjoyed our 1-1 tie last week more. It's like, in those scoreless, or low-scoring games, every kick means something...every steal is exciting...every breakaway by a boy might be "the thing" that changes the game.
I'm learning about this strange sort of football. It still ain't the Cowboys, or the LSU Tigers...but it ain't bad.
