MADE THE MRS. CRY...

Y'all that know me understand that my goal for every day is to make The Mrs. laugh at least once. Now, that's not as easy as you might think. She is a very serious, down-to-earth lady...but I usually get a chuckle out of her once a day.

Once I had to put my underwear on my head...another time, she was swiffering the floors and I hollered at her "Hey baby, I'm going to the grocery store...you need anything?" She wheeled around to see me wearing her bikini, and I finally "broke" her. (That was a particularly difficult day to get a laugh from The Mrs. ...But I don't mind...it's my goal!).

But as hard as it is to make The Mrs. laugh, it's even harder to make her cry. It's not like I try to make her cry...she just holds her emotions real well. I guess that being married to me for almost 30 years, raising 4 boys (and half-raising 3 other boys that we've taken into our home), has kinda drained her tear ducts.

Now me...I'll cry over anything. I cry easily...tears of sympathy, tears of joy, tears of sadness, etc. Heck, I cried the other night watching TV. It wasn't even a "Good Night John-Boy" moment from The Waltons...I'm ashamed to say it, but I cried watching a Barnaby Jones rerun when Lee Meriwether broke a nail answering Uncle Jed's phone...

But The Mrs. is alot tougher than I am. So this morning when she told me "Andy, you made me break out the Kleenex yesterday," I was trying my best to figure out what idiotic thing I had said, (or done) to make The Mrs. cry.

Then she went on..."I watched the Tribute Video on your blog yesterday, and I just had to grab a tissue." I was surprised! She don't usually look at the blog because she already knows how ignorant and foolish I am. I guess because it was a holiday, and she had a little time on her hands she decided to see what I've been up to...

In case you missed it yesterday, I'll put it back up here on the computer. There really is something that grabs you in this video. I've watched it about 5 times, and get an eye-cleansing every time.

I think I know what is special about this. There are dozens of videos posted on the computer using this Tim McGraw song...but this one is different. It was published by either the wife, or girlfriend (I'm not sure which) of a young hero that died in Iraq in 2006. There is ""true love" in the work that she did on this.

It might have hit me and The Mrs. a little harder because we've got a son in the US Air Force, and one heading into The US Navy pretty soon.

Anyway...if you missed it yesterday, here it is. If you saw it yesterday...well, get out the Kleenex again.
