NOT SO PROUD TODAY...

Hey y'all! Y'all know that I am a proud resident of Northwest Louisiana...but not so much today. Two different stories in the local and national news have made me feel like taking a long, hot shower or two!

In my town, there is a High School (Parkway High School) that will observe the rite of graduation this coming Saturday. My 18-year-old will also be graduating on Saturday, though not from Parkway. He's a good boy...he went to "the old school" like I did...He's a "Bearkat."

When the Parkway High School graduates march on Saturday, they will be without one of their classmates, Gregory Colston, who was due to graduate and walk out into "real life." But, Gregory was shot like down a dog, along with his grandparents at an apartment complex less than a mile from where I live by one Robert McCoy (I started to put his picture on this post, but I had to run to the potty to vomit, and decided not to pass that along). It seems that Gregory's mother's insane estranged husband went to the apartment of her family looking for her. She wasn't there, so he just decided to kill her Mom and Dad (?), and her son Gregory. "That'll show her" I guess.

From all news accounts, this Gregory Colston was a good kid. Whenever I see 3 different names in the same family, it raises a red flag. I am sure that Gregory dealt with things that never crossed my mind or experience as a teenager. Momma with one name...step-father with another name... grandparents with two different names...and on and on. But anyway, everything I have read, or heard about him is that he was a good kid...persevering through all the junk his folks threw at him (shame on 'em).

It seems that this Robert McCoy guy was finally caught up to in Idaho. I figured that he was trying to get into Canada, but the article says that he was going to meet up with some family in California...who knows?

This McCoy demon decided to try to take his own life. He was found in his cell in Idaho trying to hang himself with a bed-sheet. An astute Idaho jailer saved McCoy's life, and probably cost the State of Louisiana and the Feds several million (of our tax) dollars to house, prosecute, and answer his appeals until he is old and gray like me. Now, y'all know that I don't believe in the death penalty. But if a sub-human piece of dookie like McCoy wants to off himself...just turn your back and walk away...

I sure hope that there is an empty chair at the Parkway High School graduation for Gregory.

I'm pretty sure that there will be. My 18-year-old BHS graduate works with a boy from Parkway. Phillip filled in at work for this fellow while he attended vigils for Gregory, before he passed away. I'm an old softy! I don't know if I could handle being at the Parkway High School graduation...they might have to carry me out in "the little white truck."

Now to the national story.

Well, I don't know how "national" it is, but it really roasts my corn. Some dude named Oliver Stone is filming a new film about President Bush. It is gonna be called "W." Y'all can probably guess that it is about President Bush (not the first one...the last one). It is being filmed just right across the Red River from my house in Shreveport.

Shreveport has gotten to be a big filming place for films due to several reasons. It has been really good for the local economy, but I'd just as soon that Oliver Stone would find another place to work.

It seems that Josh Brolin (I think his Momma is Barbara Streisand) is gonna play President Bush in this new Oliver Stone picture about how dumb and retarded President Bush is. This gal Cindy Adams at the New York Post has gotten hold of the script for this film...it's worth a read if you hate "W," or hate Hollywood...

This Stoned Liver guy couldn't wipe W's snot. He just sits back and makes bazillions of dollars by throwing rocks. He doesn't have to look at intelligence reports every morning, find out that a building is fixing to be blown up...a subway is about to be gassed...a hurricane is about to wipe out a city...a good for nothing bunch of thugs won't let him send aid into Burma...and face a media dead-set on making him look "stupid."

I'm not proud today...

But y'all don't worry. I'll get over it. Stoned Liver will make his little movie, and drop alot of cash into our local economy. It will lose money (just like all the other hateful films Hollywood is making now). And this Robert McCoy character will probably figure out a way to off himself before he comes to trial...

I hope that they both make peace with God...
