CATFISH STRANGLER...

Well, it started raining Tuesday evening about 6 o'clock. By 7, we had one inch. By 8, we had 5.2 inches (that's over 4 inches in one hour). Then it slowed down until about 4 this morning...and the heavens opened up again! We have had about another 3 inches since then...

The rain stopped, and the Sun finally came out about an hour ago. I have lived in this house for 11 years. I live on one of the highest spots in my town, so I don't worry about flooding. But I have never seen water standing in my back yard...until today.

I know that we might be in trouble. I've seen "frog stranglers" before in Louisiana. But I've never seen a "catfish strangler." There is a stinkin' catfish in my back yard struggling to survive.

Poor Sadie (my yellow lab) has got no idea what to do. She has never seen a fish, and that thing has great protective devices that can poke a hole through even dog hide. She's so funny...just jumping around it, splashing around in the standing water, trying to figure out if that catfish is friend, or foe...she's so funny!

Well, I'm gonna go heat up the skillet...God works in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform!

By the way, we have the second wave coming in from Texas tonight...looking for 3 or 4 more inches of rain. Hey, maybe I ought to put that fish on ice until tomorrow. I might get a "mess" by tomorrow morning. Man, this is cool! I didn't even have to buy crickets...
