HELP WANTED!!!!!

Leon Panetta...Director of the CIA? A decent Joe to be sure, but not outfitted with a cloak and dagger as I understand.

Hillary Clinton...Secretary of State? She'd better brush up on her Farsi. Man, I'll bet Bubba is gonna miss her while she's traveling all around the world trying to get to be head of the UN one day.

Tim Geithner...Treasury Secretary? This guy is a stinkin' genius when it comes to dodging taxes...the perfect pick!

Eric Holder...Attorney General? Well, at least Edwin Edwards has high hopes that the Pardon King will be confirmed.

I'm giving my Senator David Vitter a big pat on the back for being one of the few Republicans to stand up and object to some of these clueless, worthless nominations of BarackO'.

Objections May Delay Clinton

January 17, 2009

Hillary Clinton’s confirmation as Secretary of State is likely to be delayed a day by objections from Republicans who still think Bill’s Clinton Foundation presents a major conflict of interest, an informed source tells us.

Louisiana’s David Vitter was the only Foreign Relations Committee member to oppose Clinton, but Sen. John Cornyn added his voice to the opposition yesterday, sending out a letter demanding that Bubba open the books on his foundation even more than he already has, and refuse all foreign donations.

The delay is little more than a poke in the eye, since Clinton will certainly pass, but it makes Clinton, and Obama, wait a bit longer.

Eric Holder’s nomination for Attorney General also can’t happen until at least Wednesday because the Judiciary Committee still hasn’t passed him. That is set for Wednesday morning. Some in the GOP are still peeved by his work in the Clinton administration. Incidentally, Glenn Thrush reports that Chuck Schumer’s chief counsel, Preet Bharara, has the inside track to become the U.S. attorney for New York’s southern district once Holder is in.

Team Obama wanted all of its team (except the tax-challenged Treasury pick Tim Geithner) approved by unanimous consent on Tuesday, soon after Obama is sworn in. There’s still a chance Republicans will relent on Clinton, but it seemed unlikely late last night... (more)

It's not going to matter, as the Republican Party has no spine...but I just wanted to thank my fine Senator for swimming against this Red Tide that's likely to leave the ocean pretty stinky.
