RICKEY HENDERSON ELECTED TO HOF...

It's hard to believe that Rickey is only 50 years old. Man...what a terror on the bases! I wonder how many catchers (and pitchers) had nightmares over him.

A single is good as a double...a double as good as a triple...and for heaven's sake, don't walk the guy!!!

"I'm really just spaced out. I haven't even thought about what I'm going to say or how many people I have to speak of that helped me along the way, that gave me the guidance, that pulled for me, that stuck behind me."

Henderson did single out late A's manager Billy Martin, under whom he achieved many of his early successes, including breaking the season stolen-base record in 1982 with 130.

"I wish he was here, because I think he believed in me more than anybody, and he was like a father figure to me," he said.

Hmmm....Billy Martin & Rickey. Hmmm...
