Local resident fights armed robber -

A would be armed-robber is recovering in a hospital and will go to jail after his release for treatment of a shoulder wound inflicted by the man he was trying to rob.

The incident occurred Wednesday around 11:20 p.m. on Henry Street in Alexandria when Ronald Cook, 17, of 450 Williamson St., and two 16 year old males attempted to rob a man, according to an Alexandria Police Department press release.

The man exited his vehicle and began walking toward his residence when one of the suspects pulled a gun. The man then fired his own weapon at the suspects, striking Cook.

Officials said Cook will be charged with armed robbery and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. The juveniles were taken to the Renaissance Home for Youth.

I'm taking up a collection for this old boy that shot this thug. Not as a "reward," mind you. I want to buy him a couple of boxes of bullets, and a couple of trips to the firing range...a stinkin' shoulder wound?
