I HEARD TODAY THAT BASKETBALL IS STILL BEING PLAYED...

It's June...stinkin' 92 degree June, and somebody told me that the National Basketball Association is still playing. I guess they have air conditioning in their gym.

Now, if you still care anything about professional basketball, you might be interested in this video. Truthfully, I haven't watched any pro basketball since MJ retired. But then, I only watched the playoffs. It's not a bad video though. Jerry West (not playing...just introducing somebody), Bill Russell, MJ, Larry, Shaq (who I have looked at in the playoffs before), and then some other guys I've never heard of.

Don't bother to look at it if you gave up on B-ball when Hondo retired...like I did.

  1. Great video, Andy. I more or less quit paying attention to the NBA too after MJ retired and the gangsters took over the game. But I do have very fond memories of the epic Celtic-Lakers series in the 80s. I loved the Celtics - Bird, Parish, McHale, Ainge, Walton, Johnson, et al - going toe-to-toe with Magic and Lew. Bird and Magic - will never be that good again...

  2. Ain't it the truth Dadman? Man, for the good old days of Jerry West v. Hondo...and even Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin v. Magic etc...

"Thugs" is a good way to describe what passes for B-ball players these days.

    Man...oh well, you know...

  3. The Celtics were the "white man's" team weren't they? Oh my, they were good. Now its all about tattoos, money, and gang-bangin. Not fun.

  4. Yep Staci! The Celtics were truly loved by us Crackers. Of course, they had the very black Robert Parish (a Shreveport native, who I met once...he bought several cars for his Momma from The Papa-in-law...long story) back in the day.

And not to forget the great Bill Russell before him...from just down I-20 in Monroe, LA.

Boston is the most racist place I have knowledge of. Again...long, long stories...

Good memories...good B-ball, too. It was worth watching.
