After I shared with y'all yesterday my personal entries on The Facebook, Walt commented that I should feature a "Dumpometer" on this world changing blog. At first, I was reluctant, and kinda laughed it off by telling him that he would have to become one of my "friends" on The Facebook, as my "Dumpometer" is posted on my The Facebook page. I was just joking around btw.
But then this morning, I awoke to find that Dadman was requesting more info on my The Facebook page about my regularity. So, I gave my old buddy Dadman the morning update. He seemed VERY, VERY pleased to know how active my bowels were this morning.
So, I gave it another thought, and decided to install a "Dumpometer" on this blog. You will find it in the right hand margin just beneath my "About Me" junk.
While pondering the best way to keep y'all updated, I thought about doing the old "mark it on the wall" thing. Like...
But then I realized that within a month or two, the "Dumpometer" would likely consume the entire right hand margin, and it would take y'all a WAY long time to count 'em all up.
So, I decided on using something they call "Romanian numbers," and just add it up for y'all as each dump occurs. Evidently, in Romanian they use stuff like "I," and "X," and "C." (Trust me, we'll be up to the "Cs" pretty quickly).
I promise, as a good steward of this world changing blog, and as a blog-master that lives to serve, that I will faithfully update the "Dumpometer." I may have a little trouble doing it when I'm on vacation and junk...or when I'm not really sure whether it was a real dump or not...but I'll keep the best records I can, and make my best judgments. Then I'll update it. I promise.
Now for you html whizkids that understand Blogger comments: I have read something like 30 articles about supporting emoticons in Blogger posting, and Blogger comments...and the more I read, the less I understand. I have a true layman knowledge of html, and am afraid to import a bunch of junk into the template that may, or may not work.
I know that in Haloscan, and Wordpress comments that I leave, emoticons work like champs. But nothing does in Blogger comments...as far as I know. However, I know that it must be possible for a rube like me to enable it on this blog. Maybe. Probably not.
But I would like to try to support standard emoticons in blogger. Please, please do not go into a big, long research project if you do not already know. But if you do know, please tell me how...kinda give me the version "for Dummies." Any help would be greatly appreciated.
This is, indeed, an Earth splattering event!
ReplyDeleteI commend you!
I tip my ball cap to you, Walt, for the idear! Had it not been for your suggestion, several million world wide computer users would not know just how healthy a horse I am.
ReplyDeleteAnd...a "trend" would be left wanting in the ash-bin of "just good ideas that nobody ever laid hold of."
You will one day be able to look back at your "light-bulb moment," and feel great satisfaction that you stepped up to the plate, and swung (or is it swanged?) at a pitch WAY out of the strike zone...and it became another "shot heard around the world."
One day my friend, every blog will have a Dumpometer.
Heck...we shoulda got a copyright or something. Crud...
