WHAT INTERESTS ME ABOUT THE "AIR FRANCE" LOST PLANE...

Everyone that follows the news now knows about the Air France airliner that went down in the Atlantic en route from Rio to Paris.

Through this whole episode, I have read, and heard many theories about what happened...what might have happened...what air speed was the plane traveling...why didn't the plane turn back, etc.?

But almost every article starts out with something like this:

Brazil's air force says a helicopter crew recovered the first wreckage from Air France Flight 447.

A structural support piece of the jet about eight feet long was fished from the ocean. It was found about 340 miles northeast of Brazil's northern Fernando de Noronha islands.

What I have found interesting from MOMENT ONE is that Brazil has an Air Force. Who knew?

  1. An architect-y colleague of mine's father was the Head Dude of Brazil's submarine fleet. So, they have some things.

In a related note, Jackson, MS's car theft rate rivals Brazil's. That is funny to me.

  2. Brazil's submarine fleet? No fake? I will resist the temptation to make a lame joke.

Man, I learn something new every day. I thought all they had was Cowboys, nuts, and something like Mardi Gras.

I reckon I need to educate myself better before I go casting aspersions on sovereign nations.
