So, it's just little ol' me here at the worldwide headquarters...and there is really just one college football game that "matters" today.

A little after sundown in Baton Rouge, the ground will shake like an 8.2 earthquake, and a tsunami of purple and gold will erupt in half-drunken (if not completely "smashed") furor. The roar will be truly deafening. The person sitting next to you can yell something directly into your ear, and you will not be able to understand what they are trying to tell you. If you've never been to "Death Valley" on a Saturday night...well, you just can't understand...
The LSU v. Florida game will commence. And this game will decide the College Football National Championship. No, I'm not foolish enough to believe that
When LSU beats Florida, it will be abundantly clear that Alabama is the best team in the nation, and that Saban's Crimson Tide will eventually stand alone atop the college football world. If Florida plays "Florida ball," and wins in what will certainly be the MOST HOSTILE environment they will ever face...well...there's your Champs!
The big buzz has been for two weeks now, "Will Tebow play after the concussion he received while playing against pathetic Kentucky?" I must address that. Personally, I hope that Tim sits this one out...not because I believe that it will make much difference...but the guy has an unlimited future, and I'd hate to see it ended by some oddball whack, or some over-zealous Tiger on a late hit, etc.
As solid as the "We Hate Florida" rules are...I can't adhere when it comes to Timbow. He's a good cat. College, and Pro sports could use a whole lot more men like him.
Will he play? Probably so. If Corch Urban Meyer (who the heck names their kid "Urban?") lets him put on the pads and lace up, he's gonna play!
LSU 19 - Florida 13 (Y'all know by now that I can't pick "against" my Tigers) Look for a special teams TD by LSU to be the difference.
Well...got my fingers crossed! Y'all enjoy the games, and have a wonderful Saturday.
Geaux Tigers! I will be feeling a tiny bit of affection for Les Miles if they pull this off. A TINY bit. Miniscule.
ReplyDeleteLSU - Florida? Bah...how did William & Mary do?
