Aw, what the heck!

Dr. Jill sent me this video.

I reckon Andy's Place may as well get in on The WalMart action...

  2. My sense o' humor must be severely impaired today, coz I found the thing beneath bad taste. Hell, I'd rather listen to hip-hop than that... and that's some SERIOUS testifyin'.

I get tired of condescending asshats beatin' up on Wal-Mart and the people who shop there. Really, I do.

  3. Buck, I posted that one JUST FOR YOU! I knew that you would enjoy it immensely!

If I were to calculate my monthly consumption dollars (on an average month) I would guess that roughly 75% of my normal outflow goes directly to The WalMart.

The WalMart that I patronize is approximately 1 mile from the Commissary at Barksdale Air Force Base. It is fascinating to me that it is usually filled with Airmen and their families with carts full of groceries, clothes, sporting goods, school supply junk, etc.

That stuff is cheaper on the Base, right? Right?

I have a great respect for the model that WalMart has built, and for their success.

All that being said, you do run across a bunch of real "characters" there. But I guess when you have a million outlets, and sell every dang thing under the sun, and everybody in the world owns a cell phone with a camera in it, you're gonna get bunches of shots of those "characters."

And I honestly don't think it bugs the good folks at SamsMart Corporate. I suspect that they love the "WalMart shoppers are looney" craze. It's free advertising on a bazillion sites.

I don't remember who said it, or the exact quote. But, it's something like "There is no such thing as BAD publicity."

    I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Moogie, and Jim. Yes, it is just wrong, and just scary.

I almost did not post it, but Jim made me do it on The Facebook. He told me that he would un-friend me if I did not. So, all options weighed, the decision was easy.

  4. That stuff is cheaper on the Base, right? Right?

Some stuff is, some stuff isn't. The example that comes right off the top of my head is half and half is about 15 cents cheaper per quart at Wally-World. Clothes are definitely cheaper at W-W, in both senses of the word. Produce is generally cheaper at the base and is of much higher quality than that found at my Wal-Mart... Ya gotta pay attention.

Interesting note: I hardly EVER see AF folks in my local Wal-Mart.
