Big Durrinz at Andy's Place!

The President of the United States stopped by our expansive estate for a visit!

I invited him to sit out in the front yard, and he was gracious enough to durrit!

I was thrilled.

I told him that this particular chair was one that was give to me free!  But, it was the color of purple when it was give to me.

Free.

It's a really solid wood and wicker rocking chair (so...I figured  it would suit him just fine, being a "rocker," and all...), but being purple, it just didn't quite fit in with the motif of Andy's Place...so I painted it plain WHITE several  years ago.

Anyway, I told His Majesty that it was once purple, and that I was pretty sure that Purple is Oprah's favorite color.  So, it'd be okay for him to sit in it.

He just kinda' gave me a blank stare...and sat right down.

Here at Andy's Place, we did indeed participate in "National Empty Chair Day."  I see that my blog friend, Pat Austin did, too!

I'm sure that there are thousands of others that did....maybe billions of us.  (Not sure yet, because all of the numbers won't be in until late, seeing as it's a Holiday)

Anyway...he didn't ask much about getting my vote in November.  I guess he figured he'd be wasting his breath...

Y'all might remember Pastor Wayne Smith, and his quest to have his beloved Yorkshire Terrier adopted by some fine canine lover like me that I posted last week.

Well, just because I was bored (and at the urging of some), I sent him a reply.

My fahter forwarded your e-mail to me, because he knew that I was grieving over the loss of my Yorkshire Terrier, Muffin.  I could possibly be able to help you, and also your Yorkshire Terrier.

I have been thinking of getting another puppy to fill the void since Muffin passed away.  But, your e-mail, and the dire straits of your circumstances touched me.  Please give me more details.  What is the puppy's name?

Please let me know as soon as possible.

I am also a Christian, and appreciate the fact that you and your wife are on a Christian mission.

 Well, I finally heard back today from this Christian Missionary, Pastor Wayne Smith, who is on a mission to Africa, and who brought his dog to Africa (he must not have been there long, seeing as Angel is only 9 weeks old) but discovered that the pup couldn't be well cared for over there, and needed to return Angel to the loving arms of someone in the US. (Highlights are mine)

Thanks for your interest in my pet Andy. yeah the adoption is real,The little puppy is still very much available for adoption. This little girl is 9 weeks old he is potty trained and friendly with children he fit in the palm of your hand.she is AKC registered puppy.Adorable and sociable with great Personalities and very  good bloodlines.she vet-checked, up to date on shots and deworming,and  are health guaranteed.. Now, that must be one fabulous little Angel!  There aren't too many 9 week old puppies that are potty trained.  Must be a MensaDog or something.  Also included in the e-mail are pictures of the little Angel.  Ain't he/she just darlin'?

So, my buddy Skunkfeathers is the real pro at this, but I'm thinking that this might be an exercise worth doing.  I mean, this is a poor Yorkshire Terrier that's been throwed off in an entirely different world than she's come to know in his 9 weeks of life.

Should I do it or not?  I mean, I do love dogs, and have great respect for American Missionaries like Pastor Wayne Smith that go over yonder to the Dark Continent.

I'm thinkin' yeah...

Any suggestions on how to best respond are welcome.

 I'm sure we all get all kinds of solicitations from Nigerian scammers in the mailbox.  I've seen a bunch of different angles.  In fact, our good buddy Skunkfeathers chronicles some of the most hilarious exchanges you can imagine.

But, this is a new one on me.  It came to my Father's business e-mail box, from a Pastor Wayne Smith.

He did pretty good until the last line (except for all the commas).  I love dogs.  You think I ought to take him up on it?
