What really ticked me off was the report that "An Atlanta rehabilitation hospital will provide free care to wounded military veterans who need brain or spinal cord injury services that are not covered by the government."
I plodded around on the computer and found this article from MSNBC...or something like that.
The reds really rose up on me when I heard that the US government would not "cover" the care of our brave boys and girls that had been over there fighting the enemy.
I know that a bunch of Vets make up stuff about how they got PTSD...or something like that. But dangit...it just really boils my mudbugs that we spend a gazillion dollars every year on "food stamps for Welfare Queens", "crazy checks," and "Bridges to nowhere," and exclude something that an injured Vet might need now...or in the future.
It calmed me down some when I read this: It is part of a philanthropic effort driven by Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot Inc., a national home improvement retailer.
"These people are putting their lives on the line every day, and they deserve the best treatment possible," said Marcus, who joined Shepherd Center officials in a Monday announcement.
Now I wish that the Mrs. and bought her new self-pulling, side-discharge lawnmower at Home Depot instead of LOWES.
