IGNORANT NOTE FROM SCHOOL...FOR ALL PARENTS OF BOYS!

Hey y'all,

I got a note from my 5th grader's school today. Actually it is a permission slip for my almost 12-year-old son to attend (or not attend) a special class tomorrow. The Mrs. asked me to look at it and see "what I thought about it." Right before she handed it to me she just busted out laughing.

I asked her what was so funny. She said, "I just read the last line..."

Here is what this notification says:

"Dear Parents/Guardian:

During middle school years, children become aware of the fact that their bodies are beginning to change. Along with changing bodies come changing emotions, which they find difficult to understand.

The school nurse will be conducting a class, which includes the film "Always Changing". The class is for all fifth grade boys. The film tactfully deals with body changes and hygiene in a manner easily understood without embarrassment. This class will be held tomorrow, May 7, 2008."

Here comes the kicker:

"The boys will also receive a pack with deodorant samples."

I guess the teachers are getting grossed out by these 11 to 12 year old boys, and they've talked the school nurse into pushing the "pit perfume."

Then at the bottom they tell you to sign this if you "do not" want your child to receive instruction in hygiene. Heck, why would any parent of a 5th grader send this thing back and say "naw, I don't want my boy to hear about all this keeping clean stuff?"

Come on...we can use all the help we can get, and those poor teachers need a break, too!!! Shoot, it's getting hot around here! That note is a waste of a secretary's time, and good paper and ink.

I'd bet the farm that they don't get one of those letters back from a parent...ignorant...
