SOCCER UPDATE...

Hey y'all,

I just realized that I have fell down on my job of giving y'all updates on our Eagles soccer team. We have won the last 3 games pretty handily. Our Mexican boys are getting their groove on. They are scissor-kicking that ball, and head-kicking it all over the place.

I just got back a few minutes ago from a 7-0 win by our Eagles. Paul is doing real good. He plays about half of each game on defense. Every game he gets better, and hasn't let the ball get past him yet.

Tonight a boy from the other team broke clean out from the pack headed straight toward our poor defenseless goalie Alphonso. Paul usually just kind of "stiff-legs" it out there (kinda hoping that nobody comes his way...spinning around...flapping his hands and all). But when he saw that boy break away he ran like a scalded dog and cut him off, stole the ball, and kicked it back off to one of our fast Mexican boys.

I was proud for him. Everybody else was too! The other boy that plays defense with him ran over and gave him a high-five. Later on in the game the assistant coach came over from all the way across the field and asked me "Did you see Paul make that stop?"

Everybody was happy for him. It was pretty impressive, and probably saved a sure goal. I'm proud for him.
