Ain't it funny how time slips away???

.

He'll be 31 years old tomorrow.

He was born September 8, 1980, on my beloved Granddaddy's birthday.  My beloved Granddaddy would die a little over a year later.  But, man was he EVER proud that his first Great Grandson shared his day!

 God, he was cute!

Be safe, Airman!

On a more serious note, our good friend, and regular contributor, Dr. Jill just happened to be the only regular visitor to Andy's Place that sent an actual snail-mail birthday card, congratulating me on surviving my bad habits to the ripe old age of 52.  And, it was really touching, too!

Inside the card it asks the question, "DID YOU MAKE A WISH?"  Now, that's funny.  See, it's a card of a dog farting, and blowing the head off a cotton top...I mean, just like if you were blowing out a birthday cake candle or something.  Now, that's funny.  And, since the fart is blowing the head off a cotton top there's no chance that the dog fart will catch on fire, and singe your private place hair or nothing...

Now, that's funny!  And cerebral, too...

Thanks, Dr. Jill!  And, thanks for being THE ONLY REGULAR VISITOR TO ANDY'S PLACE TO ACTUALLY TAKE THE TIME TO SEND ME A BIRTHDAY CARD!!!

  1. Next year I vow, if the good Lord leaves me here that long, to be on your doorstep early in the AM singing "Happy Birthday" to you. With a megaphone, if I can get one!

  4. I had a card to send. A picture of a 65 million year old pile of petried dinosaur dung. Inside the card it said, "See? There are things in this world that are older than you are".

    The farting dog was better...

  10. Happy Be-Lated Berfday!! I don't have your "Real" address or you might've gotten a card from me. I was gonna send you a small, rubber OR duck from Eugene, but couldn't find your address on the WWW. A lot of important days this week besides your birthday and our anniversery and your Airman's BD. It was my wife's 29th (again) birthday yesterday. She just doesn't age! It's great!! Notice that her BD and our anniversery are 1 day apart? Great planning there or what? BTW, nice card, Jill! And Happy BD, Andy! Geez, you're old! I won't be 52 until January!

  11. Happy Birthday to your SN1!

In re: ...the only regular visitor to Andy's Place that sent an actual snail-mail birthday card...

I would've sent a card but I heard a rumor the USPS went out o' bid'niz. That's what I get for believing rumors, innit? And what you DON'T get.

  12. Great card! I seem to recall that I sent Milford a Facebook greeting about someone's birthday.

We all share a common birthday time -- mine was last Wednesday (anlong with about 10 people I personally know!) but I doubt whether I'll be disclosing my new numbers. Let's just say 50-G.

Happiest and safest birthday to No 1, too!

  13. September 1980 - I was living in GA and on the brink of turning 12 and just starting seventh grade. And realizing just how badly middle school sucked, but that's a story for another time and place. Anyway, happy birthday to your boy-now-a-man.

And why is it that bulldogs are so notoriously flatulent?
