You know the good thing about replacing the connector ends on your battery cables?

.

The "Service Engine Soon" light finally goes off.

For now.

  1. Hey, that's cool. They must've been pretty crusty. The gas cap trick that Bob suggested worked for me.

  3. Hmm. Mebbe I should try that. Nah. Too much work to disassemble the trunk just to get to the battery.

  4. Don't worry, it'll come on again soon, for if the initial problem isn't fixed it'll eventially throw another code into the computer. Hopefully you don't have to do mandatory emission checks to get your vehicles registered down there in La. like I used to have to do in Atlanta.

  5. My "check Injun light soon came" on Friday. Toby reset it, and all is well. I guess the Indians were okay.

  6. I had a 97 Pontiac Bonneville and it would just stop now and then and not work. I had it towed to the Dealership and I talked to the mechanic. He hooked it up to the computer and he said the battery is dead. I saw the post were corroded and while he checked other things, I cleaned the post. The car worked fine after that and I didn't replace the battery. I did replace the cable later as the corrosion was also inside a plastic housing on the cable end. It cost me $90.00 one time and one time only.
