.
Hey y'all! I'm gonna be really tied up the next four or five days with work, so you'll understand if I don't make my usual rounds, or present the mediocrity y'all have come to expect here at Andy's Place.
Just a quick update. The Mrs.-in-law's knee replacement surgery went just fine this morning. Bless her heart, she has NO idea how much it's gonna hurt when they make her stand up on it. I know when Mom had hers a couple of years ago, she vomited from the pain.
I didn't mention that to The Mrs.-in-law.
But, I found out they've got a new deal like an epidural for that joint where they can manage the pain quite a bit. So, fingers crossed.
Anyway, it seems that Congressman, Dr. Charles Boustany (R-Southwest Louisiana)...a very fine man btw, has been named Chairman of the Oversight Subcommittee on Ways & Means.
Excellent choice!
Go get 'em, Chuck!
I'll check in with y'all when I can. I love y'all!
Oh yeah...If I don't get around to it, y'all be reminded that my beloved LSU Tigers play ball tomorrow night against a bunch of stupid Aggies in the Cotton Bowl.
I meant to do a couple of weeks of "Aggie Jokes" headed up to the game, but all of 'em I read sounded too true to be jokes, so I shelved that idea.
Later, Andy

Glad to hear about the Mrs.-in-law's surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure we'll all miss ya, but work hard; someone has to!
Good news about the Mom-in-law. AND the epidural thang.
ReplyDelete...work hard; someone has to!
Deb is right. You're paying for my Social Security, so get to it.
Oooo. The Aggies, huh? I don't know Andy. I had some good times in College Station back in the day... ;-)
ReplyDeleteGOod prayers for your Mother-in-law ;-) God bless her with a strong and swift recovery.
ReplyDeleteGig 'em.
ReplyDeleteI had a hip replaced a few years ago - and I heard the horror stories about the knee replacements.
ReplyDeleteThe hip replacement, btw, was essentially painless. I was walking on it 6-8 hours after the surgery, and damned-near passed out from stunned relief: I was without hip pain for the first time in a decade.
I wouldn't hesitate a second if I had to have another hip replaced.
