Songs that make Andy actually dance on the "chip aisle" at The Kroger (#2)

.

Okay, so I got off work at 2225 HRS tonight, and found myself once again at The Kroger.  I know some of y'all may be wondering why I've been spending so much time on the "chip aisle" at The Kroger.

Well, I reckon it's time to come clean...seeing as there are many more of these posts to come.

I'm hooked!  I swear, I'm not proud of it, but I'm as bad off as a junkie lookin' to shoot up down on Sprague Street.

I paid my dues workin' for The Man, and all I could think about was going by The Kroger, and picking up my fix.

Yep!  I'm iz hooked on The Kroger Brand Sour Cream & Onion 'Tater Chips.

These are without a doubt the best damn 'tater chips in the history of 'tater chips.

With no exception.

Sure, you might be saying, "Well, they can't be all that good that they'd cause Andy to go jonesin' close to midnight."  You, my friend, would be wrong.  Wrong.  Wrong.  Wrong.

And, it's even worse than you might think.  I've started taking a full 11 oz. bag with me every day to work at the hospital, and sharing them with co-workers.  The reaction when folks try them is universally, "These are the best damn chips in the history of 'tater chips!"

So, I am a peddler, I guess.

And, I feel zero guilt behind it, too.  So, now you know...

Don't bother to thank me.

Anyway, tonight the overhead at The Kroger was on full blast, and as I hit the chip aisle here it came.  And, I started singing along (and dancing, too, of course).  I think I'm getting my groove back.  I started to think that I was totally white, but I actually moved somewhat negro on this one.

Oh, hush!

Anway...sure it's a bunch of white boys, but they kinda' brought out my chip junkie dark side.

Okay, a link will have to suffice.

  3. I dunno about danc'n, but I bet I could play some really mean air guitar in the aisle! My daughter doesn't agree, but I think so! (My wife and daughter are both mental health professionals. Doesn't help!)

  4. Now I've got to try those damn tater chips.
Thanks for the link to the song, haven't heard that one in a long time.

  5. I still remember bein' knocked out when the first Dire Straits album came out... and there's not a single single clinker on it, not one. "Sultans" got all the air play as the first single, but "Wild West End" remains my favorite. What was weird was I bought the album when I lived in Oregon and a lil less than a year later I was living in London and "walkin' in the wild west end" myownself.

You fired off the synapse machine, Andy.

  6. Oh. Chips? Salt & vinegar. No other flavor need apply.

  7. Jim, I'm blushing.

    Dave, indeed.

Paul, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around that visual.

Stopsign, they MUST be the Sour Cream & Onion. Their plain chips are "so so." But the SC&O are better than any name brand chip I've ever eaten. Period.

Buck, I didn't know if you'd like or dislike. Glad to get the memory train rolling. And, they do not make The Kroger Salt & Vinegar flavor. Yet.

  8. Sully, like my Mom used to say, "Songs like that turn my Baptist feet Methodist."

Lou...give 'em a try. Seriously, they are the best potato chips I've EVER eaten...not the plain ones...they're just so-so. The SC&O Kroger Brand chips will knock your socks off.

  9. "So, I'm a peddler, I guess."

Well, I'm trying 'em too. And lookit all the other hapless souls you've hooked here as well. You're no longer a peddler, you're a pusher!

Love that DS Sultans of Swing. Used to catch that about the same time every morning on the way to work. Great song. Still lots better than anything being cranked out today and, in my book, Knopfler ranks right at the top of all the R&R guitarists.

  10. Hi Dan!

Yeah, The Mrs. told me that I am technically a "pusher." I'm not hip on street lingo. Sigh...

  11. I want a video of you dancing in the chip aisle! LOL!

    You crack me up.

I'm afraid to try those chips... My arse couldn't take it to be sure.

Jalepeno crunchy cheetos... I won't even tell you what I will do for those.

    ;)

  12. Zapp's Lightly Salted Sweet Potato Chips. (Or any other flavor, whether mentioned above or not. One of my worst vices. I am the original poster child for not being able to eat just one).

Don't cuss nobody out, okay?
