Logitech HD Webcam C525 (Product Review)

.

Well, since we are working real hard to make it to 3,000 strikeouts on this glob before we retire, I figured I'd go ahead on and post #2996.

I didn't really intend to post this, as it was just an experiment I did.  But, it passed THE RETARD TEST, and seemed lame enough to be figured in the mix.

It's a V-log.

Sorry.

"Things get complicated when you get past 18." (For no particular reason)

.

Okay...I am 20 years separated from The Class of '57, due to being born too late (Mama always said that I should have been born 20 years earlier, and that I was "born 30 years old").  Heh!  Now everything makes sense...I've entered my second childhood!

But, that makes truth no less true.

This has always been one of my favorite Statler Bros. songs.

For no particular reason.

It could apply to the Class of '67, '77, '87, '97, ought '07, and probably will to the Class of 2017.

For no particular reason...

(BTW...Bitchin' leisure suits, too!)

New Year's Eve 2012

.

Ez Rainin' dogs, and cats, maaaahhhhhnnnnn....

Gonna look at LSU v. Clemson in The Chick-fil-A bowl in a while.

(I thought the gay folks had boycotted Chick-fil-A...I guess Clemson got some special dispensation from their higher-ups to go ahead on and play the game).

Hope I can stay awake long enough to figure out who won.

Probably won't.

The final sko will be on the internet at 0400 HRS when Mr. GE ALARM CLOCK reminds me that there be bills to pay.

Happy New Year, y'all!

Thursday Night Quarterback.

.

For no particular reason...except that for the world ends tomorrow, and I wanted ONE more post on record when it does, about just how damn great "The Only Sport That Really Matters" is, and about Mr. Paul William Bryant, the greatest football corch ever.

BTW...my eldest son is named "William" (We always called him by his middle name 'Dean,' but as he became an adult he opted for the 'William'...so I respect that), and the youngest of the four boys is "Paul.")

Coincidence?

I just report.  Y'all decide...

I found him! He ain't really dead!!!

.

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

I was excited to discover today that Charles Foster Kane ain't really dead.

And, he's a "local," too!  I came across his vehicle, so I know he yet lives...and somewhere close to me!  Very exciting...

Still drives an old Caddy, though.

Sigh.

But, he supports our troops...so I'll give him grace...

Time to pass out the "Comment Of The Year Award" here at Andy's Place...

.

It's a long story...

But, I figured I'd better go ahead on and give out our "First Annual Comment Of The Year Award."

Like I said, it's a long story...

But, I figured I'd better do it before Friday.

Anyway...to make the story really long, the guys that work in Maintenance at my day job always invite me to their parties...Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc.  So, I'm invited tomorrow, and I decided to bring my offering of the best damn cookie that I've ever eaten (or baked, btw).

While putting together my recipe, and getting ready to bake it this year, I knew something was just not right.  The dang thing looked WAY too big, and all.  It came out okay, but I realized right before I popped the sucker in the oven that the last time I made one of these (Jan. 7, 2012), I used Nestle's chocolate chips, and the "Toll House Cookie" recipe.  This holiday season, I cheaped out, and bought Hershey's chocolate chips, and used their recipe on the bag instead.

The dang thing expanded up on me, and nearly made like a bad science fiction movie.  Still, it looks (and smells like heavenly sin).

So...to make a long story even longer...I looked back at a blog post I did extremely early in 2012, because I knowed I had told y'all how to make your own pan full of sin.  I just love the internet...it reminds us of junk we just KNEW we'd remember to do, even though we forget within a few days.

Anyway....from this post, the "Comment Of The Year" goes to Jim at My Bossier:

"When I saw all that plaid flannel and dungarees, I thought a lesbian had got loose in your kitchen. Then I realized their was no work boots and that it was just you."

Thanks so much to you ALL for all the pithy, funny, and serious comments in 2012.  (Too bad none of us will be around after Friday to continue on with the pithy, funny, and serious).

  Crud...

But, ALL Y'ALL'S comments are just grrrrrrreat!  It's been REALLY NICE knowin' y'all!

But, y'all are all losers (except for Jim)... being initially mistaken for a lesbian really touches the heart of the panel of judges....

I AM Papaw...

.

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada..

I frightened myself this afternoon.  I happened to look at my rapidly aging self in the bafroom mirror, and saw my Papaw (Daddy's Daddy) staring back at me.

Now...this is nothing new to y'all that have tormented y'all's selves by boarding this particular Titanic for very long.  But, I really did have another light bulb minute.  I looked at myself, and once again was reminded of how hard geneticals are to fight.

And, that really ain't a bad thing, I guess.

I saw Papaw in the mirror.

Again.

But this time, it had more to do with how aging has made my face more resemble his.  Heck, I know I've got a lot of his mannerisms, and (not bragging)  his wry sense of humor.  And, I have become accustomed to The Mrs. calling me "Papaw" when I say some expression, or half-giggle like he did.

Anyway...I took a pitcher of myself with my phancy iPhone for proof.

See...

I've got a big old cheek crease right down the left side of my face.  Papaw had that.  And, I swear, that cheek crease has gotten at least 1/2" longer since the last time I noticed it.

Not fibbin'...  It's growing longer, and longer, and longer, and even more well defined.  Heck, that sucker might reach my left nipple in a few years.

But, I regress.

Papaw had a cheek crease that got longer, and longer, too.  Here is an old pitcher of him when he was still a relatively young man.

See!  He's got a cheek crease!!!  (BTW...for y'all old-time ArkLaTex readers, that is Larry Robinson Studios signature in the bottom right corner...you'll remember).

As he got older, the cheek crease got more well defined, and longer, and such.

See, the cheek crease is more well defined.  And longer.  (That's my beloved Munnie in the pitcher with him.  I miss them both every day).

I was showing my first photo up there to The Mrs. a few minutes ago, and she said, "Please don't post that on anything."  I replied by telling her my story of how I am Papaw.  She kinda' softened up when I showed her the last photo.  "Yep!  The nose...the hairline...but your ears are not quite as big as his were, but the cheek crease is a dead giveaway (she loved him, too)."   Honestly, my first photo doesn't really show it, but the cheek crease on the right side of my face only comes down to the side of my lip.  On the left side, the cheek crease comes WAY down below my lip.

Closing in on my left nipple...

Our conversation ended something like this...

Me:  I look just exactly like Papaw.  Except for the fact that he was 6' 4", and I'm 5' 9", I am him.  And, he was a fine looking man.

The Mrs:   Ummm...he was a very nice man.

Me:  Sigh...

I AM Papaw!!!

I just pray that I don't drive like he did as he aged.  The stories are legion, but for a man that made his living for almost 40 years, driving a truck for ArkLa Gas...well, his later years were not his best behind the wheel.

The "Old Man" is coming...

.

The Autumn of 2012 has been one of the most enjoyable periods of my life that I can remember (when it comes to the weather).  If you are a skinny, bony, rapidly aging dude that finds each and every approaching Old Man Winter as repulsive as I do, you know of what I speak.

Here we are on Pearl Harbor Day with the sun shining, and at 70-something.

Fahrenheit.

Our Sweet Olive bloomed.

Again.

And her fragrance wafts up my extremely handsome nostrils each time I walk outside.

It's been bitchin' good around here!

But, the newly acquired Confederate Rose has given up the ghost.  She only has one dark red bloom, and a bunch of dead blossom-lookin'-dealies hanging on for dear life.

We're screwed.

The Mrs., and myself have noticed that we have a dookie-load of acorns falling from the Live Oak...more than either of us can remember in the 16 Autumns we've lived here.

And, we ALL know what that means.

Crud...

Old Man Winter will be here in a couple of days.  Mr. Weather even said so!  (Local readers will know who I'm talking about)

Crud...I am not looking forward to Tuesday morning!  (Isn't there a store named something like that?)

So...why did Andy post such a lame blog post dealie about the weather?  Everybody knows that EVERYBODY talks about the weather, and we can't do nothing about it.

Well...I was just trying to make sure I remembered how to use The Globber.

That''s really why.

Crud...

The Mayor will soon be fabulously wealthy! (Even more wealthy than he is now, and ever dreamed he'd be).

.

Our good buddy, The Mayor (who I have personally virtually known now for about 86 blog years) is fixin' to be fabulously wealthy!

And, that kinda' sucks for us all...because he'll probably resign as Mayor, shut down his blog, and buy Tahiti (or at least 70 or 80 Tahitians to satisfy his every want/desire/whim/whatever).

He's that kind of a guy...

It'll be good for the less fortunate in this world, though.  I have it on good authority that he gives almost 4% of his income to charities (which puts him about 400% ahead of 96% of US Democrats.  And, he's a Canadian, which gives him extra credit, due to the fact that he is taxed by his gubmit even more than we are, and has less to give.  (Most of his charity giving goes to stuff like feeding starving children, saving half-dead/beaten/handicapped seals, and buying (and giving away for a small charge) new "magnetized cause ribbons" that folks stick on they carz.

Them magnetized cause ribbon deals that people stick on they cars do a helluva lot of good for they cause, too!

He's that kind of a guy...

Most of you probably don't know this, but His Honour is a real trendsetter in the blogosphere.  Mitch (not his real name) was the guy who initially conceived "Humpday Hottie."  Really...he was...and we shall forever be in his debt.

He did that probably a million years before anybody else.  Now, hundreds of thousands (if not billions) of bloggers post their "Humpday Hottie" posts on Wednesday, with photos of scantily clad chicks (or just plain nekkid).  Do they ever give The Mayor credit for the idea?

Naw!!!

You might not know it, but he also was the ground-breaker in "Hot, or Not?" (Wherein "stupposedly sexy" celebrities are lampooned, and given their comeuppance).  That one has been copied by several thousand bloggers.  Do they ever give His Honour, The Mayour the credit?

Naw!!!

And, one of my most favorite trends he started several years ago is "MENSA Friday," wherein he poses questions posed to MENSA candidates, to see how good you can do at it.  I don't usually do all that good, but occasionally I will copy and paste answers from commentors that have commented before I did, and I'll get 'em right.

(One of the highest honors honours I've had as a blogger was to be allowed to pinch hit for The Mayor one summer doing the MENSA Friday deal when The Mayor was intellectually spent, and needed a break.  It wore me out, too.  But, doing your part for the cause is what life is all about.  I guess).

To be honest, that trend hasn't caught on real good yet.

But, I'm sure it will.

Will they give His Honour the credit when it does?

Naw!!!

But, one thing The Mayor learned early on is how to profit from his creativity.  Eons ago, he started using "targeted ads" in his sidebar.  And, I know for a fact that they have served him well.  I hear tell that he bought his current fleet of armored SUV's from the targeted ads alongside one post he did about Michelle Obama right before the Inauguration of her husband in 2009.  If memory serves, he referred to Michelle as a "howler monkey."  (Don't quote me...it could have been "Future First Lady.")

Regardless, in his sidebar appeared a click-through advertisement where you could buy "The Michelle Obama Inaugural Ball Princess Figureeeeeeem."  (It was porcelain, too).  I think it was ONLY $39.95 (USD), and the click-throughs went through the roof!  The Mayor really cashed in on that one.

He's that kind of a guy...

Anyway...I was looking at the Mayor's blog today, just breathlessly awaiting one of his lesser known, trend-setting, regular (somewhat regular...it's been a coon's age since he posted one) features, "Piece Of Art, Or Piece of Shit?"  (POAOPOS in worldwide computer shorthand).

Sure enough, he done one!

I was proud.

When I clicked on the POA or POS post, I was astounded!  His Honour, The Mayour has finally hit the big 22 on the roulette wheel with all his chips on 22.  (Okay...I'm faking/reaching/hoping here...not sure a roulette wheel has a #22...regardless, he's gonna get rich and buy him lots of Tahitians).

(click it)

Ka-Ching!!!!

Dang!  The Mayor's click-through sidebar has covered just about everything.  It tells you a link where you can find a piece of art, or a piece of shit at MonsterMarketplace...or you can get "answers" about "Piece Art piece shit" at www.Answered-....and it looks like that same "answered" dealie can even help you find a piece of art or shit "near you!"

What could be better?  I mean, a local POS that you probably never would have knowed about had it not been for them targeted ads!!!

His Honour, The Mayour is gonna get filthy, stinkin' rich on this one.  I just know it.

The good thing is that he likes me.  I think.  And, he might let me ride herd on his newly acquired Tahiti folks!

That would be a bitchin' job!  And, I could use it, seein' as Santa Clause is comin' to town.

And, pretty soon, too.  (Unless The Mayans were right)

So, y'all need to mosey on over there, and click on them sidebar ads big-time...maybe four or five thousand times...if you've got nothing better to do.

And, I know you don't.  It's Monday night.  Go click through, and find more info on pieces or art, or pieces of shit (POAOPOS) in your area.

Do it for the chirrens!

Mayday...Mayday...Mayday...Update on previous post!!!!

.

The Deal Is Still Good!

I didn't click around the Forbes Jewelry Store computer page long enough before I posted that last deal.

Seems that the billboard advertisement deal is still in place.

Love them Tarheels!  If I never mentioned it before, my beloved Granddaddy Austin (who died on Thanksgiving 1981, and who I still miss every day) was a transplanted Tarheel.

I miss him every day.

Anyway...THE BILLBOARD DEAL IS STILL GOOD!!! (Click on the "Sales" tab)

Just in time for Black Friday!

.

I refuse to forevermore do any political posts, seeing as we're screwed like a two dolla' Ho' as a nation...

So, I thought I'd take back up our holiday tradition of "Just In Time For Christmas Gift Giving."

This one is not really all that funny, and it didn't come from one of the forty million mail-order catalogs that land here at The Estate late in the year (like our suggestions usually do).

But, it's a heckuva idea for that special girl/woman/lady/chick in your life!

I actually did a little Goobling on Forbes Jewelers, Hwy 74, 3.2 miles on right.

They got a pretty nice operation now.  I wonder if the old billboard deal is still good???

BIGTIME BUSY SATTIDY!

.

Well, at least it was supposed to be.  What's that about the best laid plans of rodents, and Big Boys, or something???...

The plan was made for my BIGTIME BUSY SATTIDY.  Me, The Mrs., and #4 son were to hit The State Fair of Louisiana this morning (at the expense of my employer, God bless 'em)....then come home and work on our own biz for a few hours...and then I was to settle in for some BIGTIME College Football.

But, the stomach virus wrench got thowed in the works.

Bless his heart, #4 son woke up at roughly 0200 HRS puking his guts up.  Unfortunately, he did not make it to the crapper before the spew turned loose.

Eeeeeewwww...

It really wasn't all that bad.  Vomit was only on his blanket, sheets, box spring, bedroom floor, the hallway floor, bathroom floor, and all over the crapper in the hall bathroom, and on him (in voluminous quantities).  So...the "graveyard shift" hazmat crew was called in to do their yoeman-like work.

We did our best, but I'm sure we will continue to find (and smell) vomit for a while.

Crud.

So, as daylight dawned here at Andy's Place, #4 son was in no way interested in going to The State Fair of Louisiana...just wanted to sleep.  Bless his heart...

To throw the "pilin' on flag," it seems that The Mrs. is quite possibly beset with the same dastardly bug.  Bless her heart.  After working her graveyard shift, she removed her hazmat gear, and collapsed in to bed.  She has roused a time or two (it is 1355 HRS now), and looks progressively sicker each time she does.

Crud.

I hope they don't have the flu.  I took the flu shot at work (it's not required, but highly recommended), and felt a bit of queasiness myself this morning (but, it probably had more to do with continued cleanup of the mess, and seems to have passed).

Maybe.

So, I've been pretty well a free agent today.  I decided to work on my own business this morning while the house slept in sickness.  It goes slow, but I really didn't have much to do until the really big games taking place in THE ONLY SPORT THAT REALLY MATTERS get going.

Speaking of which...I've got a feeling that there will be some surprises today.  When it comes to the Notre Dame v. Pitt game, I'm not actually calling for an upset.  But, The Dame had better pay big-time attention to the passing game of Pitt...some impressive numbers...and those 4-4 teams are JUST THE ONES that can upset your plans for post-season glory.  Trust me on this one.  I look for it to be close.

I see no reason that The 'Boys of Okie State can not beat The Hawks.  I look for 220 total points, and about four million yards of total offense between 'em (not including punt return yards...but there may not be any, because I doubt either team will punt).

Of course, I am an LSU homer, so my great hopes are for big-time shakeups above us.  And, the lay of the land is ripe for such things.  The miserable Ducks of Oregon face off against The Rubbers.  If anyone on their schedule needs a win as badly this Sattidy as USC, I'd have to have it 'splained to me.  I'm going out on a limb, and calling this one for The Miserable Rubbers over The Miserable Ducks.

But...our Tiger hopes are really in our own hands at Tiger Stadium tonight.  Am I "optimistic" about a win against Corch St. Nick, and his Tide?

Well, no.

But, my lack of optimism will have ZERO to do with the outcome of the game.  Tiger Stadium is a tough place to play, no matter how good you are.  And, trust me, 'Bama is GOOD!  It will require us (LSU) to play "The Perfect Game."  Do we have it in us?

Dunno.

But, even a close loss to The Tide would be respected (and I look for the game to be close either way), and LSU should likely stay in the BCS bowl hunt.  Crud...I know for all my fellow LSU homers, I really sound pessimistic here.  But not really so much.  This is just one of those gaaaaamz that is so dang hard to figure that it's like a puzzle with pieces missing.  All I know to do is look at it, and find out what happens.

And, I'll be ready (and grateful that Daylight Savings Time ends tonight...seein' as I gotta be at work on my day job at roughly 0545 Sunday morning...that extra hour of sleep might just hep me keep my jarb).

Come Sunday morning, we'll know about all of this.  But...it's possible that the next 10 hours will change the landscape of the BCS in big-time ways.

We shall c.

Oh yeah...gotta post this.

 Catch y'all on the flip-flop!

Okay...I tried this on Facebook, but nobody bit.

.

Well...Jim Wells actually did bite, but he GoobleCheated, and he was man enough to admit it, so he did not collect the cash prize I offered.

For 50 blog points...

Tell me who these two guys are (Jim, I added to the first one you GoobleCheated on), and their lasting legacies.

1)  Issur Danielovitch  (You don't really need to go in to his lasting legacy, seein' as he ain't dead.  Yet.)

b)  Amos Muzyed Yakhoob Kairouz

And NO!  They are not old commies, or current detainees at GTMO.

Put off the Presidential Election due to Sandy???

.
I've read a ton of stuff on the worldwide computer...speculation that Hurricane Sandy might cause the 2012 Presidential Election to be put off, due to the severe destruction/the fact that voting won't be either easy, or accessible/etc./yada yada yada...

Truth is, I don't really have much of a problem with that.  As I understand what I've read, each State may well have the authority to switch up the rules to accommodate their citizens in cases of severe calamity.

But, I also understand that they've all got to get it done by December 11, or December 17.  I'm fuzzy on the exact date.

Regardless, I don't really have a problem with the States that have been hit hard by Sandy to make their own way on this thing.  I mean, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Massachussets (sorry...the red line of misspellin' just will not disappear on that one), The DofC,  Delaware, Maryland, and even over on to Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Ginny, Ginny, and Kentucky, and allbody that doesn't feel like they can give their citizens a fair shake at the voting booths should be able to wait a while to hold they votin'!

So...of those...Romney is probably only going to win Kentucky, WV, VA for sure, PA (maybe, but probably not), and maybe Ohio.

Does anybody think John Kasich is gonna go for a postponement?  Does anybody think that even if Christie postpones the vote, it will make one bit of a difference in NJ?

Nope.

Point is...

This election is over.

When the returns come in on November 6 (regardless of whether many of the blue States have yet voted), Mitt Romney will have gained enough Electoral Votes to win the Presidency.

Late voting due to Sandy, will only serve to determine election outcomes in the US House, US Senate, and local dogcatcher junk.

So, I for ONE, am not getting too upset about the prospect of a protracted Presidential vote.  In fact...if my scenario plays out, I can see multiple millions of disappointed ObozOites not even going to the trouble of voting (since he's already lost)...possibly giving Republican candidates for the House and Senate races an edge once they gets they power up, and they rooodz open.

And, I just can't not post this...

Just throwin' this out...

.

Okay, since we're down to about 7 regular visitors here at Andy's Place since I decided to quit clogging up the worldwide computer with my foolishness...

I'm just wondering if any of y'all 7 are wondering the same thing that I am.

Do y'all remember back in the 2008 Presidential campaign when many on the right posed the question, "Are people afraid to tell pollsters that they do not support Barack Obama, because somehow they might think the pollster might think that they are a racist?  Is it possible that the polls are wrong, because people do not want to tell a nameless, faceless, somebody that they don't support the black guy?"

It's hard to believe it, but it's been four whole years...four whole miserable years since that question was posed over...and over...and over...and over...

Well, it turns out that ObozO cleaned McCain's clock in the popular vote, and even more so in the electoral college in 2008.  So, maybe the speculation that folks were lying to pollsters just to seem polite, and not a RAAAAAAAAAACIST may have been wrong.

Yet, for old time's sake, I'm asking y'all (all 7 of y'all), if you think maybe there is still that imaginary deal going on.  Is it possible that Romney's 51% spot in Gallup, or his 50% spot in Rasmussen has anything to do with the fact that the poll respondents are afraid NOT to tell the nameless, faceless pollster that are supporting a white Mormon dude, at the risk of being thought to be a whitey-loving, teetotaler?

Just curious.

Why The Apple is the most valuable company in the history of history...(just some "inside baseball" junk for iPhoners)

.

I have made NO secret of the FACT that I LOVE my phancy iPhone!

LOVE her!

But, she and I have had a little problem recently.  About 3 weeks ago, her cammer quit working consistently.  I would open up the cammer from the home screen, and would often just get the shutter.

Like this:

Said shutter would not open.  Then she'd go back to (wait a minute...I just realized that I'm referring to my phancy iPhone in the feminine...and it occurs to me I've never given her a name.  That sucks.  If you've got a suggestion, please leave it in the comments...what was I saying?  Oh yeah...)  working.

But, about a week ago, she (yet to be given an official name) just refused to take pitchers.  Period.  End of story.

I've been kind of busy...well...real busy, so it took me a week to call up AT and T, to lodge a complaint against her.  But, I did yesterday (even though I was really still really busy).  I swear...that Filipino woman I visited with transferred me right straight to The Apple itself.  And, once I got over to The Apple, another Filipino woman was more than happy to hep me with my problem.

It's a loooooong story...jumped through a lot of hoops (which I was expecting, because I had already looked at The Gooble about my particular cammer problem, and I KNOWED it to be a hardware issue from what Mr. Gooble told me.)

Anyway...I did the hard restart with the nice (very nice) Filipino lady...went through all the "settings" with her, and all was good.  Except the cammer didn't open up.  Finally, I told her that I had read an article on the worldwide computer that said it might work if I did a "restore" to factory settings.

That was when she asked me if I mrinded being put on hole while she looked up some articles.  I said, "No problem."  About 5 minutes later, she resumed our little talk, and suggested that I go ahead on and try that.  But, I could tell from the tone in her voice that she didn't really think it would work.

She informed me that if it did not get the cammer shutter opening, I should call back.

Which I did.

When I called The Apple back at their super secret phone number, the service rep gave me a service order #...gave me her name...and her personal extension!  Really.

Really!  (And, she sounded American...I guess when you call back the third time you get a 'murican.)

Anne, (We'll just call her "Anne," because that's her name) could not have been more helpful!  When I 'splained to her that I'd gone through all the steps to get the cammer working on it/her (telephone to be named later),  Anne said, "Yes, I see...it's all in the notes from your previous calls."

Bitchin'!!!

The end of our conversation was that The Apple is sending me a brand new pHancy new iPhone.

No charge!!!

All I gotta do is send my current pHancy iPhone (yet to be named) back to them.  But...they're gonna send a box, and instructions to do it, and everything!

Lookit...I've got 4 PCs...and no complaints with any of them.  Well, not many...

But, these folks at The Apple are making me scratch my rapidly balding head about where I should invest my next 'puter dollars.

I'll let y'all know if The Apple makes good on sending me a pHancy new iPhone.  But something tells me, they will.

I got a G-Mail from them about it, and everything!

I JUST HATE ME A THIEF!!!

.

Okay, so I'm off work today from my "day job," and while The Mrs., and I are working on our own biniss this morning, she says, "One of us is going to have to go to the grocery store."

Which means, "Andy, when we get finished working this morning, YOU need to go to the grocery store."

Well...it doesn't mean that exactly, but she knows that I don't mind, and that when I "go," I come back with lots of good junk that she would not have bought, because she sticks to "the LIST."

So, I pipe up, "I'll be GLAD to go when we get finished."  She seemed pleased, and added, "Well, I've got a LIST for Kroger, but Sadie is almost out of food, and I know we like to buy her food at Walmart, because they're so much cheaper on dog food."  To which I replied, "Baby, I can go to The WalMart as easy as I can go to The Kroger!"

All I could think about was all the good junk I could look at (and purchase) while I was at The WalMart, as compared to The Kroger..

So, at roughly 1315 HRS, I haul my cookies over to OUR The WalMart, and grab me a shopping cart (I'm gonna be there for a while), and stick the LIST in the little fold-out-basket-thingy that we used to put the younguns in when their big ol' butts were still little enough to fit in.  The first thing on the LIST is "Hand Soap, refill size."  So, I head that way (the dog food is that direction, too, so Imma kill two birds with one rock).  I get to the soap aisle, and it's just loaded down with BIG The WalMart shoppers.  So, I think to myself, "Self...just leave your shopping cart here on the end cap in front of all of this hand sanitizer, and walk through the crowd to get the hand soap (refill size).

So, I did.

Well...The WalMart sells about 42 kinds of hand soap in refill size, so it took me a while to stand there (dodging other shoppers with full carts, and mean old fat women on electric motorcycles), and decide which of the 42 refill size bottles I wanted.  I finally figured it out, and swam my way upstream back to the end-cap where I had left my shopping cart.

You figured it...GONE!  The dang thing was nowhere to be found.  Some worthless POS that forgot to get their own shopping cart while coming in, just decided to STEAL mine.  I hate a thief...

Heck, it didn't matter so much.  I mean, The WalMart has about a bazillion of 'em, and I'm healthy enough to go get another one (even with a refill size hand soap in tow).  But, did I mention that I had put the LIST in the little fold-out-basket-thingy that we used to put the younguns in when their big ol' butts were still little enough to fit in?

Yeah, I think I did.

Crud...I felt like John Travolta in "Grease."  Stranded at The Drive-In WalMart, Branded a Fool!!  What will The Mrs. say when I get home with  a bunch of really good junk, but only hand soap & dog food that were on the LIST?

But, I shook off the depression of it all, and remembered that I own a Phancy iPhone!  I can call her, and she can tell me what to purchase (besides the other good junk I plan to get that's not on the LIST.  One quick click, and I'm saying, "Call Pam."  And the phone rings...and rings...and rings...then goes to voicemail.  So, I try it again.  Ditto.

Crud...

Turns out that she was on the phone with The Mrs.-In-Law...and it's a rule at Andy's Place that you don't rush off the phone when your Mama calls (you KNOW you ain't that busy).

So, I'm stranded with no LIST.  I had only half-way looked at it when she handed it to me, so I had to stand there calling on every remaining living cell in my brain to bring up a pitcher of the LIST.  Okay...coffee, tortillas, limes, bread, coffee, hand soap, dog food, flour tortillas, spaghetti, sliced cheese, thin spaghetti, hand soap, dog food, Sam's Diet Cola, Sam's Diet Twist Up, thin spaghetti...other junk...

So, I called The Mrs.

Again.

Crud...still on the phone with The Mrs.-in-Law...

Okay, this is a retarded blog post, but the short of it is that I got home with EVERYTHING that was on the LIST...except for eggs.

I hate a thief!  I hate me a thief!  Heck, if you're gonna steal a guy's shopping cart, at least be decent enough to remind him why he went to the store in the first place!

When I got back to Andy's Place, I was mentally exhausted...

HEP!!!

.

I don't know if any of y'all can hep me on this one, but at this purnt, I'm axin' everybody.  Maybe one of y'all can.

Several years ago a fambly member of The Mrs. decided to put together a book of genealogy research that was done by The Mrs.' Grandma Ryker.

The Mrs. wrote the foreword for it, for said relative (who has now croaked...so she is NO HELP AT ALL in trying to get this did).

Anyway, her Grandma Ryker was truly an "unforgettable character."  (Trust me.  She was.  She was running 160 head of cattle at the old fambly farm just a couple of years years before she croaked herself at the age of 81.)

It really is an interesting fambly history that the Mrs.' now deceased Grandma & the croaked relative (who is NO HELP AT ALL) put together.  There were several copies of it self-printed, and EVERYBODY had one.  But do they now?

Nooooooooooooo!!!

Nobody can find their copy, and EVERYBODY wants one.

So, "Who has the ONLY SURVIVING COPY?" you ask.

You guessed it.

Crud.

So, I'm cruising online trying to figure out how to get this self-made, bound, book reproduced.  And, I really can not find anything that doesn't cost an arm and two legs.

Short of tearing the only remaining copy of it apart limb from limb, scanning each page (191...count 'em, 191 pages!) in .pdf format, and printing out copies for all the retards that lost theirs (and I'd still not be able to bind it all up), I'm at a loss for what to do.

If y'all got an idea/source that would not cause Andy to have to expend much of his EXTREMELY valuable time, or limited funds, I'm all ears.

This really is a cool deal.  Grandma Ryker didn't just chronicle births and deaths.  She spent 20+ years putting together not only the story of The Mrs.' family (her Daddy's side).  It's an interesting look in to the trials, struggles, lifestyles of the folks of NW stinkin' Arkansas, too.

She was a skooteacher, and a brilliant woman who had no problem at all "instructing" folks.  I liked her, and she liked me.  She had a picture of Ronald Reagan in her living room.  (Ya' know...kinda like how Roman Catholics had a picture of The Pope, and black folks had one of them side by side pictures of JFK/MLK back in them days).

There are dozens of photos in the book.  This is one of The Mrs.' favorite pages.  She loves it, because it's got one of her kinfolk, "Prudence Pendergrass" in it.  (The blur on the left is due to the fact that I can NOT bring myself to start tearing this book limb from limb, and my scanner is cheap).

She was an attractive woman, if you ask me!

So...this is probably the biggest shot in the dark I've taken on this here glob.  But, any hep/advisements/etc. would be greatly appreshunated!

Sure, I could just hand over THE ONLY SURVIVING COPY OF GRANDMA RYKER'S PASSIONATE WORK to somebody else that wants one, to handle the reproduction deal.

But, I don't trust the retards.

I mean...if they lost their first copy, they'll likely lose ours. too.  And, I can not let that happen.  Period!

Monors...
