Sometimes, there's just nothing better on TV to look at...

.

So, I decided to look at NFL Monday Night Football.  Yeah...there was some other junk on, but even though I'm not an NFL watcher, I've been somewhat fascinated by The Green Bay Packers, and their dominance of all things pro football.

So, while flipping past channels, I see that they are playing against the vikings.  So, I take a gander for a minute, and see that the vikings have Percy Harvin on their team.

Then the light bulb switched on.  I remember when Harvin & Timbow dismantled the Southeast Conference...and pretty well humiliated the rest of the NCAA behind their dominance.

But, that wasn't what I was so much thinking about.

I was thinking about that fabulous tribute to them a couple of years back by Congressperson/Congresswoman/Gentleman/Gentlelady/Whatever Corrine Brown on the floor of the US How of Repuhzenutiv.

(It took all of 9 seconds to locate it on The YouTube.)

Corch Irvin Mayas really did corch a remarkable group of guys! But, when you've got Tim Tivo & Percy Harvey...

Well...you just don't take no jive.

The Facebook ain't completely worthless.

.

One of my friends on The Facebook (who I've never really met, but comes up with good junk) posted this shot.  Allegedly, it was taken in Marshall, Texas (about 45 miles west of me on I-20), and paid for by a local citizen.

I want one.

Okay, so I got my first Christmas Card sent...

.

Well, actually it'll probably be the ONLY Christmas card I send this year, but I felt it was important to follow up on this one...

I thought about sending them this one, but that is really in bad taste, and defeats the purpose.

So, I made 'em up a letter sized one in Publisher, so it would be personalized...and so it would look like a possible contribution, seeing as it's in a regular envelope.

I like it!  Merry Christmas, ACLU!

I'm getting on board the Christmas Card idear...

.

A military-themed Christmas Card I snagged from Buck a while back.
(I love the wreath on the jeep.)

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

My brother-in-law sent a computer letter with what I think is an excellent idea.  And, being the obnoxious juvenile delinquent that I am...I'm getting on board. Excerpts:

Want to have some fun this CHRISTMAS?  Send the ACLU a CHRISTMAS CARD this year.

As they are working so very hard to get rid of the CHRISTMAS part of this holiday, we should all send them a nice, card to brighten up their dark, sad, little world.  Make sure it says "Merry Christmas" on it.

Two tons of Christmas cards would freeze their operations because they wouldn't know if any were regular mail containing contributions. So spend 44 cents and tell the ACLU to leave Christmas alone.  Just don't be rude, or crude.

You could Gooble the address, but I'll make it easy for you.

American Civil Liberties Union
125 Broad Street, 18th Floor
New York NY 10004

Yeah, it's not gonna change anything. But, most of them don't have anything much to do around Christmas, so maybe some good employee will get some overtime out of it.

Stole this one from Cosmic...

.

Our old pal, Cosmic Conservative put it this way:

Oh, heck, just go read it...It's short, and to the point.

Now, what was that "Quote Of The Day" I posted a while back?

Oh yeah!

“The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.”

—Albert Einstein

I do not listen to Michael Savage, and you may not like him. But, this is a must listen. Savage managed to find the stupidest human in America the other day. Maybe the stupidest human on the planet. Or on any planet.  (Maybe even stupider than Sheila Jackson Lee).

Just in case you missed this over at Staci's joint, from which I stole it...

There's your trouble! The Queen's Riddle...

In the computer mailbox from Cowdad.

The Queen's Riddle...

Barack Obama met with the Queen of England.  He asked her, "Your Majesty, how do you run such an  efficient government? Are there any tips you can give to me?"

"Well," said the Queen, "the most important thing is to surround yourself with intelligent people."

Obama frowned, and then asked, "But how do I know the people around me are really intelligent?"

The Queen took a sip of tea. "Oh, that's easy; you just ask them to answer an intelligent riddle." The Queen pushed a button on her intercom. "Please send Tony Blair in here, would you?"

Tony Blair walked into the room and said, "Yes, my Queen?"

The Queen smiled and said, "Answer me this please, Tony, your mother and father have a child. It is not your brother and it is not your sister. Who is it?"

Without pausing for a moment, Tony Blair answered, "That would be me."

"Yes! Very good," said the Queen.

Obama went back home to ask Joe Biden, his Vice President the same question. "Joe, answer this for me. Your mother and your father have a child.  It's not your brother and it's not your sister. Who is it?"

"I'm not sure," said Biden. "Let me get back to you on that one..."
He went to his advisors and asked every one, but none could give him an answer. Finally, he ended up in the men's room and recognized Colin Powell's shoes in the next stall.

Biden asked Powell, "Colin, can you answer this for me?  Your mother and father have a child and it's not your brother or your sister. Who is it?"

Colin Powell yelled back, "That's easy, it's me!"

Biden smiled, and said, "Thanks!"  Then, he went back to speak with Obama.  "Say, I did some research and I have the answer to that riddle.  It's Colin Powell!"

Obama got up, stomped over to Biden, and angrily yelled into his face, "No! you idiot!  It's Tony Blair!"

AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS PRECISELY WHAT'S GOING ON WITH OUR FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN WASHINGTON D.C.

Cornelius Calvin Sale has left the building!!!

(Okay...do NOT blame me!)

If you do not read The Wickedpedia, you will not likely know that West Virginia Senator, Robert C. (Carlyle) Byrd was born about 162 years ago, and given the name of Cornelius Calvin Sale at birth.

Well, because you read this blog...now you do.  Don't bother to thank me.

I know that it is not Christian to take any joy in the death of a fellow human being (even if you really despise them).  So, y'all can trust me that I take no joy in the passing on of Senator Cornelius C. Byrdbrain.  I really do not.  I take no joy in it, but I shed not one tear, either.

Several years ago when Senator Byrdbrain went to the well of The Senate and made an absolute ass of himself on some subject...meandering around...talking all out of his head about things he remembered as a child...talking about some guy that never learned to read, and how that guy played a bad-ass fiddle anyway...and talking about how his great "friend" Senator Lincoln had never told a lie (and was even more honest than his other great 'friend' Senator 'Robert' Kennedy)...and how much good he had done for the niggers  (honestly, I can't really remember what bill he was debating...probably something to do with the war in Iraq)...I truly did feel sorry for the ancient relic.

I really did.  So, I sat down at my desk, and typed a computer letter to his office e-mail address.  In my letter, I basically said, "Hey look!  If there is anybody around your office that really cares about Senator Byrd, someone (someone he still recognizes and might trust) needs to take him aside and explain in gentle terms that he should really not make speeches on the Senate floor any longer."  I said, "C'mon...you ALL know that the old guy has lost it, and is really making a buffoon of himself every time he stands to speak.  If ANYONE in your office really CARES about their boss, one or two of you will take matters in hand...gently, and lovingly tell him to shut up, yadda yadda yadda..."

To my great amazement, I received a reply from a staffer (from a personal e-mail address).  It was quite kind, and cordial.  The thrust of it was that if I ever repeated anything he wrote in his e-mail that I was a damned liar, etc..  I can respect that.  Dude felt the need to unload, and for some reason felt he could entrust Andy with  his deep frustrations about how concerned he was about the United States, and had majored in PoliSci, and scraped like all get out to get graduated...but now he worked for a guy that needed his shoes tied for him, and wore Depends.

Just sayin'...

So, Cornelius Calvin has left the building.  Cornelius Byrdbrain was a complex individual for sure.  And, it is completely understandable as to why.  If you enter the Great State of West Robert C. Byrd Virginia on a highway, you will now likely see something similar to this.

But, it is important to remember that when Cornelius Byrd (whatever) was born, the welcome signs on the trails were more like this.

So, it is completely understandable that someone of the character,  and mental acumen of Senator Calvin Byrdbrain might somehow come to represent the folks of the Great State of Robert C. Byrd for the last 98 years!  Makes perfect sense.

Just sayin'...

I started to try to write up a REALLY nice tribute/eulogy/remembrance of Calvin.  But, our old friend Snarky beat me to it.  Now, if you hit that link, and read some of the quotes from Senator Byrd, you must remember that back when Cornelius was a child, he was raised up to disrespect "niggers."  It ain't his fault that he hated "niggers," nor that he proclaimed things like, “I will never submit to fight beneath that banner with a Negro by my side…”  (Well, at least he did use the polite term on that occasion.)

funny animated gif

Nope!  It MUST be remembered that Calvin was a VICTIM of his culture!  Yep!  He was a VICTIM of all them nigger hating folks that raised him up.  Plus he was probably just using those terms to appeal to all the registered voters in West Virginia while he was marking out his territory to run for political office back in the 1800's, and do his very best to screw the US into the ground, while stealing EVERY FREAKIN' TAX DOLLAR FROM THE OTHER 29 STATES IN THE UNION WHEN HE WAS FIRST ELECTED possible to send back to the Great State of Robert C. Calvin Sale.

See, it makes perfect sense.  That's probably why he gave up after only 14 hours while filibustering the Civil Rights Act of 1964.  Him, and Al Gore's Daddy, and the rest of the Democrats really just ACTED like they didn't like the Civil Rights Act.

So, the Republicans had to get it done without the help of the Democrats...who are mostly like Byrdbrain, and do not like negroes much.

funny animated gif

No, it is not racist!  It is just WHO one of the most powerful men in these here United States was.  I mean, he obviously was not a racist.  He just did not care much for "niggers."

I mean, he knew that there were "white niggers," too!  I think his Momma told him that, back when Grandpa had gone off to fight Cornwallis.  Plus, she told him he couldn't get to Heaven if he hated anybody (even if they was a nigger).

funny animated gif

Old Corny had a wise Momma.

Just sayin'...

As I said in the beginning, I do not take pleasure in the death of any human.  I truly do not take any joy in the death of Senator Byrd.  But, his death does deserve mention.  Perhaps no one in my lifetime has been quite as intriguing to me as Calvin For Sale.  I remember as a young child watching him play his fiddle on some Country Music television program.  I think it was on The Opry!

Hang on...

Hey...there's a video on The YouTube of it, plus some other junk of him sawing it off.

He was probably no more than 85 years old at the time, but he could saw it off!

So, the big political question becomes who will replace Mr. (For) Sale in the Senate from West Virginny!

Have the citizens of West Virginia had enough of liberal policies?  Will they finally reject the notion of living as a Welfare recipient now that Sugar Daddy has gone to his reward?

I'm not betting on it.

How tone deaf is the ObozO Administration?

FoxNews is reporting that the ObozO justice Department will file a lawsuit challenging Arizona's new immigration law.

These people just don't "get it."  The Arizona law is almost a mirror image of current Federal law.  Dozens of other States already have legislation in the works (or planned legislation) to copy Arizona.  The American public overwhelmingly supports the Arizona law.

Just a note to Governor Brewer.  The nation is behind you, and your right-thinking constituents.

Tell ObozO, and his criminal Attorney General this!

Helen Thomas jokes...

I've heard a lot of Helen Thomas jokes the last couple of days since she said that the Jews should "get the hell out of Israel" or some such thing.  I'm not going to post the video because you've all seen it.

But, that's nothing new.  I've heard Helen Thomas jokes my whole life.  The truth is, you can't make up any "joke" that is funnier than the "joke" she already is.

There is something about this whole thing that is very disturbing to me.  It's not that Helen said what she did...because it did not surprise me one bit.  She's a lib, and an old senile lib at that.  What disturbs me is the outcry from the right, calling for her head!

Fire Helen Thomas!  Helen should be fired!  How can she report the news accurately if she holds such opinions?  Yadda yadda yadda...

Gimme a stinkin' break!  When has "journalism" not been tainted (especially in the mainstream press) by leftist philosophy?  The fact that Helen gave her personal opinion openly on this issue has nothing to do with her ability to report the news accurately.  She didn't have it before, and her recent statements don't change that.

And besides, this "fire somebody" mantra is what the left does.  It is the left that goes after people's careers, and livelihoods if they dare say something that offends.  We don't do that. We let the chips fall, and the market decide.

Hey, I got an idea.  How about just not buying anything her employer produces.  How about just not reading her/their crap.  Whether to retain, or fire Helen Thomas is a business decision that only Hearst can make.  And you gotta know that the only reason they've kept the old broad around this long is out of personal loyalty, and for the Nyuks anyway.

Leave the misrable old dame alone.  She'll be dead soon enough.

Laughing my guts up...and it ain't pretty (trust me). Somebody forgot to cross the "T"...

FoxNews is reporting that there's some kind of "loophole" in the latest round of sanctions from the Useless Neanderthals against the Iranian goat-humpers!  It seems that said "loophole" might actually help the Iranian pedophiles/wife beaters/retarded populace to get a "deadly weapon."

Now, that's hard to believe!  I mean, we all know that EVERYTHING the UN does brings peace, and kumbayahishness to the globe.  (I mean EVERYBODY loses their water when they find out that the UN has put "sanctions" up on 'em.)  How could they have possibly missed this?

This is really gonna' screw things up now.  The Useless Nutjobs need to close that dang loophole, or Iran might actually think they can screw around with all of us UN lovers!  That would be bad.  And sad.  Heck, we might have to go back and do another bunch of sanctions to make sure all this junk stops!  Sanctions work, you know...

From the article:  Rep. Mark Steven Kirk, an Illinois Republican running for the Senate, has circulated a letter calling on President Obama to close the S-300 loophole.

Well, that'll stop it for good if ObozO closes up the S-300 loophole!

Then Aquavelvajad and his merry band of ragheads will know we mean bidnizzzzzz!  Dangit!

I'll swear!  I was about 12 years old when I figured out that the UN was a worthless waste of time, energy, money, and oxygen.  I guess we're going to have to see a nuke hit London, or Paris, or Jerusalem, or New York, or Los Angeles, or DC before we have finally had enough.

But then, it'll be too late.

Aw crud...I'm just preaching to the choir here.  But I'll preach on...Until we throw that worthless bunch of assrags out of the US...shut the whole worthless mess down, and maybe nuke the HQ ourselves...and return to a truly "offensive" mindset, we may as well come to grips with the fact that WE have lost.

But, we're not going to do that.

I know it is not "Christian" to wish ill upon folks.  But, at this point, I hope DC gets hit last.  I want them to sit and watch as others suffer, while they contemplate their fate...

So, should I hit "publish post?"  Yeah...

They're gonna use a nuclear bomb to stop the oil spill in the gulf!

Crud! The video got pulled by The YouTube...crap! It was funny. It was some lib chick weeping & wailing about the oil leak in the gulf, and...well, it's too much to explain.

Crud...

Let's run up the tab...and hope Obama don't "walk the ticket."

A commentor over at Innno's Place shared this idear...

Heard this on the Gibson radio show.

Go to Google.

Enter "Goldman Sachs SEC".

Click on link on the top of the page that says "Help Wall Street Change."

When you click, Google charges the Democrats twenty bucks.

Cool, huh?

Now, I do not know if "BarackObama.com" is actually paying The Gooble Search©
$20 for every click-through. But, I understand "pay for clicks" advertising on The Gooble Search©.

His organization is paying something. So, I was  glad to oblige by clicking through...I just hope ObozO pays The Gooble what he'll owe 'em for all our support.

Click away!!!

(Update...it looks like they took it down.  Maybe their click-through account ran out of money, or a cookie keeps you from running up the tab.  Dunno.  But keep trying.  Do it for the children.)

I've got this friend...

...who has a "friend" on The Facebook that she simply can not afford to offend.  It's one of those complicated deals that most of us would understand, knowing all the details.

In a The Facebook thread, her "friend" wrote:

What Emma should be asking is why is everyone so angry at this administration? In addition to increasing troops in Afganistan, they have slashed the deficit by 8%. Isn't that what they all wanted?

I don't spend much time on The Facebook. Just sayin'...

Linking just because...

Hey y'all!

Paul Mitchell is begging for traffic to his blog, so he's asking for links.  He doesn't cuss too much in this one.  Hey look, while you're over there, congratulate him, and his boy.  His son is graduating from Great Lakes this weekend.  He's gonna be a Medic, like my #3 son.  Except in the Navy.

Paul won't be able to respond, because he's going to the graduation, I think, and it's way up in Chicago.  But cheer the boy on, okay?

If you don't hit all the links at that post, here is one that is really interesting.  It seems that the Geico voice-over dude had some strange questions for FreedomWorks.  Weird...

Tuesday, April 6, 2010

Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) is quite the gentleman! He is also an ethical "role model" for young people. And, "obviously," the most astute Senate Majority Leader in US History!

I have been reading many blogs over the last few days that are decrying all of the personal attacks (from both the left and right) during this highly charged time in our nation's history.  I must say that I do feel quite a bit of shame upon myself!  I have recently  fallen into the un-Christian trap of being WAY TOO uncivil, and all.  Crud...

So, I decided that I'd just look for all of the good qualities in folks that I disagree with politically.  And, I'll tell ya'...they've got some REALLY GOOD PERSONAL upsides.  Heck, even the Okie Senator, Tom Coburn has called for a return to niceness.  And, he's an Okie...

President Obama (D-Kenya) has got one bitchin' fastball!  Heck, I think he might one day replace Carlton in baseball lore...I mean, there's only THE ONE "Lefty."

Speaker of The House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) obviously does not have a weight problem.  Good on her for being all self-controlled, and all!

But, I'll have to admit that Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) has been the toughest challenge within my spirit to love.  Seriously!  I mean, I know that Jesus died for him just like He did for me and all.  But, when I read this article about how he had made fun of Sarah Palin, it really did kinda fry my backside.

Now, y'all long-time visitors to Andy's Place know that I am not the biggest Sarah Palin fan in these Nyunited States.  I mean, I don't dislike her...but I'm not a true fan like many others on the right are.  And, honestly I know that she has set herself out there as a spokesperson for right-wing ideals and junk...so, she's fair game.

But, she is not an elected official (she was, until she quit), and she does not have a vote in the US Senate, nor is she running against Harry in his miserable little reelection bid.  So, it really did kinda give me a case of the reds to hear that Harry (the genius) picked on the gal.  With all of the Christianity I could muster, I decided that I was gonna find something nice to say about Reid.

He is a financial genius!  Why, he's been able to make a stinkin' fortune through real estate deals in, and around, Lost Wages, Nevada!  I mean, he and his family have (without ANY POLITICAL INFLUENCE at all) been able to live the American Dream of getting filthy rich by hard work.  Every young person in this nation could learn a thing or two from Harry's hard work, and extremely high moral code!

But, I'll confess that it still did REALLY bug me when he said (speaking of the enormous Tea Party held in his backwater, useless hometown of Searchlight, stinkin' Nevada)  "I was going to give a few remarks on the people who were over here a week ago Saturday," Reid said in a video posted by Fox News anchor Greta Van Susteren, "but I couldn't find it written all over my hands. "You betcha..."

After all, this is the guy that voted "NO!" on his own Health Care Deform legislation, due to the fact that he is certainly mentally retarded, and can't remember what to write on his own hand.  And, it really ticked me off that he'd pick on somebody just because they scribbled notes in the palm of their hand.

Ya' know, it's really nothing "new" for Harry to go after private citizens.  I mean, this is the guy that for the first time in the history of the US Senate sought to encourage other Senators to sign an open letter of protest against a private US citizen in hopes for said citizen to lose the support of his employer (The Rush Limbaugh letter dealie).  So, it doesn't surprise me at all that he went after Sarah Palin in a moment of humor.  After all, he's a really funny, light-hearted, happy-go-lucky deep well of funniness, and good nature!

See!  Just as fun as a barrel of monkeys, or somethin' !

So, I'll go ahead on and say something nice about him (in the spirit of civility).  Harry, I truly appreciate the wise leadership, and love you've shown for our nation as leader of The US Senate.  I truly do.  So...

Back at ya' !

Got an idear about how to celebrate "Earth Hour," but I'll need some help...

Hey y'all! Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

Good Friday afternoon!

This coming Saturday (March 27th) is Earth Hour – from 8:30 until 9:30PM at your local time.

I fully intend to turn on EVERY light at Andy's Place during that hour.  I also intend to turn on the televisions, radios, the electric oven, run the dishwasher, do some laundry, and toast about 3 loaves of bread (one slice at a time).  I may even run the AC, even though it's not warm enough.  Ya' know...just test her out for when it finally gets hot.

I had this crazy idea, (shocker) and I'll do it if y'all participate.  I am inviting all visitors to Andy's Place to join me in lighting up your residence.  And, I am inviting y'all to snap a photo of your place, and e-mail it to me.  I will then compile them into a post, so we can all enjoy the magnificence of human technology together.

Now, to protect the privacy of our visitors, I will not caption the photos as to whose place is whose.  And, I will edit out any visible addresses, etc.  I know some folks are more sensitive about that stuff than others.

So, I'm gonna give it a try.  Y'all participate if you want to.  If you don't want to, you sure won't hurt my feelings...trust me, you won't.  You can send your shot to justandysplace@aol.com, or justandysplace@gmail.com

Love,  Andy
