Might have figured out the "Comment Subscription" deal...(UPDATED!!!)

.

Update:  Yep!  The Globber has been fiddlin' with the knobs again (It weren't none of y'all, nor me)!  I wish that they would just find "Lever B," and do just that!  Seems that if your Glob settings are set to show comments in a pop up window, I CAN NOT SUBSCRIBE TO FOLLOW UP COMMENTS!  Thanks a whole helluva lot, Globber!  But, if you go to "design, settings, comments," and switch your settings to "show comments underneath the post you wrote/or something like that," the option to subscribe is still working.  For now.  I'm pretty sure some jerkified geek with coke bottle glasses, and a belly-button ring, is working hard right now to screw this up, too.  I guess when you're one of the most valuable companies on the earth, you MUST employ people...and those people gotta do something to earn their keep.  But, would y'all please just quit screwing with the knobs???  I mean...crochet, or something else valuable for Heaven's sake!

Let's see.

Somebody please try to post a comment, and see if you can subscribe (You don't actually have to subscribe...just see if it gives you the option to do so).

Pretty please?  With sugar on top?

Let me know.

Please?!?!

If it's not one something, it's something else. Crud!

.

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, whatever...

Man, I finally got some time off from work after an especially challenging couple of weeks.  The two weeks started out with me witnessing first hand two uniformed Soldiers showing up next door to inform the family that one of their sons had been killed in Afghanistan.  I will certainly post something about this when I finally get my head wrapped around it.  But for now, just know that it really knocked all of us off our game.  The family more so than me, obviously...but, well, I'll post something about it once I've got my head wrapped around it.  Then it was on to work for a couple of challenging weeks.

Don't get me wrong...as y'all all know, I love my job.  But, it was time to shelve it for a while.

So, I had me these three whole days off hand-runnin', and had me my plan.

My garage looks like crap.  Seriously.  For a guy that prides himself on keeping things neat, clean, and in order, it is truly embarrassing.  And, my yard looks like crap.  SERIOUSLY!  I mean, this is ME!!!  I'm the one guy in the 'hood that can't stand it when his place gets to looking crappy.  But, there I'm iz...with a crappy looking yard.

Crud.

So, since I got off work on Sunday morning, I have literally felt like crap.  And, my well-laid plans have turned out just such that way.  My garage still looks like crap, and my yard looks exactly like it did (except with three extra days of crappy, viney, weedy growth piled on top of the crappy look).

Crud.

It has been a struggle just to move around.

Waaaa!

Waaaa!

Waaaa!

Well, as some/most/maybe none of y'all know, I am the pro bono Secretary for my beloved Daddy's business.  Yes, I handle all of his website updates, his electronic correspondence, his billing, etc.  Well...it seems that a couple of weeks ago (just about the time that I found out that a fine young man that went to High School with my #2 son, and is a true military hero was killed in action) that my Daddy's online fax service, and e-mail service basically cratered.

To be honest, I KNEW something was wrong.  I just didn't have the spizzerinkum to look in to it.  But, I knowed it must be did.  So, yesterday I dived in to it.  About three hours of web-searching, and two calls to a very nice lady in India helped me get Daddy's online fax service back up.  (She did a bitchin' job, too!  Really!  Them Indians are pretty sharp from time to time.  Just sayin'...)

Then it came down to figuring out WHY all of his e-mails were not being forwarded to my main box where I have ALL of his biz e-mails, my biz e-mails, my personal e-mails, etc. forwarded.

Waaaaa!

Waaaa!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Well, I finally figured it out (by the hardest).  So all was right with the world.

Not...

I still felt like crap.

Then, Monday night I was so tied up in knots that I did not get to sleep until 0420 HRS on Tuesday morning. (A really good friend of mine called me a "pussy" twice on Monday night.  It hurt.  Really.  Not.)

Waaaaa!

Waaaaa!

Waaaaaaaaaaa!

Then, I wake up at roughly 0845 HRS on Tuesday to this!

Yep!  The Gooble Mail has somehow decided to screw with me.

Again.

I wake up and find that 1490 old e-mails have been re-deposited in my "catch all" inbox.

The Mrs. thought it was REALLY, REALLY funny, too.  She was like, "Bwahahahahahaha....you're the guy that's so anal about keeping his e-mail box cleaned out.  Bwahahahahahahaha"

I love her.  Really, I do...so I laughed along with her.

Ha ha ha ha.........

So, it's been a good long while since I thought about marketing this great idea for leisure wear that I had in the way back.  Most/Some/Probably not none of y'all remember it.

But, I might just do it.  Probably!  Maybe.  Probably not...

Anyway, I truly do NOT enjoy being a titty baby, and unloading all my junk on y'all.

Well, maybe I really do...

Not sure.

The ONE THING I KNOW FOR SURE is that The Netflix (registered/copywrite/whatever) has come through, and sent me a video of "Rainman."

I'm planning to look at Dustin Hoffman in his retard role, eat some of The Mrs.' world famous refried beans on corn chips, and enjoy the last few hours before I have to go back to work.

Have I ever mentioned that I love my job?

How to increase blog traffic Tenfold...

.

Well, I got in from work, and checked the glob traffic. I actually haven't done that in a while, because...well...because I forgot about Sitemeter. But, I saw it in my "favorites," and looked at it.

Seems that traffic is about ten times normal today. "Hmmmmmm..." says I. So, a couple of clicks later I discover that my "product review" of my The Roku® is being hit like the fat kid in a round of "Smear The Queer."

Lookit!  The Gooble is back loving me again!  Just like the old days when it loved me...

As you click on this, you'll notice that we are ONLY #6 in the search term.  I don't count the junk at the top because it's all company stuff (probably bought and paid for).  But, #6 in this term seems to draw a crowd.

It also just tickles the fire out of me that we come in above "pcworld.com."

Nyuk...

So, the moral of the story is that if you want to have one brief moment of exultant blog traffic induced joy, post a review of a product that is being hammered up hard by one of the big boys that gets millions, or maybe billions of visits a day.

I think I'll go to bed now.  Long night at work...almost didn't get home due to stalled trains, and flooded underpasses.

But, I'm home.  Life is good.

I SWEAR!!!

.

Jeepers, this is getting old.  I swear, this is no less than the 20th time in the last few days that The Gooble Search© has lead some joker to Andy's Place using these same search terms (or very similar), and I'm about to get a case of the reds behind it!

And, every stinkin' one of these folks is either from Massachusetts, or New stinkin' York, or Connecticut, or Maine, or New Hampshire!

Bunch of friggin' impolite, racist yankees!

Get off my property!

Teh Stoopid Search of the day...We're #2! We're #2! We're #2!

It's been a while since I posted a teh stoopid search of the day deal, or anything about the wrongness of The Gooble .  Honestly, I got tired of y'all telling me just how dang boring it was and all.  But, it's time to put y'all's wants and desires aside, and post something I'm interested in.

Last night some joker happened by Andy's Place via a The Gooble Search© for this:

(click on it for the big picture)

Now, what kinda bugs me about this is that the searcher (who hails from Witchita, Kansas btw) was advised by The Gooble Search© that they were doing it wrong, and dis'ed me personally.

Those Gooble  folks are really getting on my nerves!!!

As always, Teh Stoopid Search of the day is sponsored by the good folks at...

If you're reading this, it means that you read blogs. So, I have a serious question for all 13 of y'all that read this one...

Hey y'all!  Kicks, cusses, spits,  yada yada yada... (still working on getting this blog classified as being written by a man)

This is just about Andy's Place blog...not really about me.  Before I ax y'all this important kwerschun, I've got a big announcement.  I am going to turn off "word verification" for your comments.  I enabled it a good while back due to the aggravation caused to me by the chinks that spam comments.  Turning on "word verification" was supposed to make certain that you would not be invited in the "comments" section to view computer pages that exhibit chink porno junk, or offers to meet up with Russian brides, or buy Herbalife.

I got so many "spam" comments like that...and it's really not such a big deal as I think back on it now.  I know that all 13 of y'all know better than to click on the retarded links they leave.  Plus, I can dump the "spam" comments when I get around to it.  Besides that, I heard the lovely digital goddess, Kim Komando, on her radio program a couple of weeks ago say that the chinks are actually now hiring other chinks to sit down at a keyboard and "manually spam" blog comments.  They actually sit there and promote their chink filth, and enter word verifications by hand.  That is exactly what has been happening around this joint...the chinks are entering "word verifications" by hand so as to entice y'all to look at their filthy porn junk...and I'm still having to dump a bunch of chink spam comments anyway.

So, it ain't working out too good, and I know it's a pain in the rear end to enter word verifications.  I might actually get some dust-up from some of y'all, because almost always the word verifications are more entertaining than the blog posts.  So...

Bite me!

Regardless, we're going to give her another try without WV's.  For a while.  Just don't click on anything that looks like it might be chink spam, unless of course you are in to chink porn, or Herbalife sales-hacks.

Have I ever mentioned that I hate chink spam?

I'll just try to be vigilant to dump it before you might possibly be enticed to click on it.  If I screw up, and miss something...well...

My apologies.

What was I going to ax y'all?  Oh yeah!

The question is:  Have you EVER used the "share bar" on a blog post?  Now, some of you may not even know what a "share bar" is.

It is this... (click on it to see the big picture)

The "share bar" evidently allows you to "share" the fabulous work of some globber easily to either The Facebook, The Twitter, The Computer Letter, or to The Gooble Buzz, or to reblog  what you've just REALLY, REALLY, REALLY  enjoyed reading.  At least I think that's what it does.  Not really sure.  But, I noticed that several of my favorite Globbers have the "share bar" installed beneath their blog posts.

So, I figured I would install one of these nifty "share bars."  Not knowing exactly how to do it, I decided to contact my friend Two Dogs, who knows every dang thing about The Globber, The Gooble, and how to renovate garage apartments.  So, I axed him did he have the html code handy, and could he pass it on to me.

I received a prompt response that said basically,  "Andy, you are a friggin' moron, you retard!  Do I have to do EVERYTHING for you?  It's right there in the "Design" tab, and under "Edit Blog Posts," you friggin' moronic retard!"  Well, that's not exactly what he wrote, but that's kinda how it came across.  It didn't bother me any, because it is impossible to offend me, and plus he was right.  It was right there in the "Design" function of The Globber...just hiding out, waiting to be used.

Man, did I feel like a retard!  Again.  So, as you can see from the above picture, I put a ✓ in the box to enable that nifty "share bar."  Only one problem...it did not work.  Really, it didn't.  So, I imposed upon the good graces of Two Dogs once again, axing him for further input.  He replied that when he installed it on his blog it took a few tries, and he advised that I move it around to the top (above the post), or after the comments, and to quit bugging him because he was a busy man, and eating black walnuts,  yada yada yada.

I did just that.

No success.  Again.

So, I thought about sending a "support request" to The Globber to try to figure out why their automatically easy "share bar" will not display on my posts.  But, The Globber is free, and I figure I'll never get a response from troubleshooters in India who have better things to do than try to help a moronic retard like me out.

Actually, I'm afraid that I'll get something back like "The Blogger is thanking you berry much for you inquiry!  The Blogger has determined that your blog really SUCKS, and no one will ever want to use our most fabulous featuring of the sharing bar.  It has been disabling upon your Blogger accounting.  We are apologising profusely if this causes you consternation.  Nothing personal...just biniss!"

So, the kwerschun is:  Have you EVER used the "share bar" on a blog post?

I mean...if y'all don't use it, I'll quit letting it bug me that I can't install the dang thing.

A simple "Yes," or "No" would be greatly appreciated. However, any other input would be greatly appreciated...as always.

We own the Gooble (kinda)...and the Cornelius Calvin Sale death story (kinda)...

We started getting visitors this afternoon at Andy's Place from Gooble Searchers...

(Click it and see)

Actually, I'm just a little bit surprised that we are only at #4 on The Gooble Search©. And, maybe a little disappointed, too.

Since I Own The Gooble, I expect to come up higher than 4th position on searches.  I will have to speak sternly to someone about that...and trust me, I will.

But, I note that we are only behind The Wickedpedia, TheSoulOfTheSenate (nyuk...probably not much posted on that page), and Ancestry.com.

I reckon that I can live with that.

There are dozens of these visits from folks searching for info on Cornelius Calvin Sale.  Heck, if I'd have thrown in the word "nude" in the post title, it'd probably have been hundreds.

But, I really like this one...Nyuk!  Somebody using your tax dollar paid for computer at the Department of The Interior was searching for info on some dead guy...

I ran the IP address, and sure enough it's at the US Department of The Interior in Herndon, Virginia (Not West Robert C. Byrd Virginia).

Now, why in the world would somebody be spending their valuable gubmit working time, and using computers and internet service paid for by your hard earned tax dollars searching for something like "Cornelius Calvin Sale?"

Maybe they're gonna bury him on Federal land or something...

We've hit a new high/low/whatever...

I decided to check the Sitemeter, because almost nobody surfs the web on Father's Day, just to see what "random" visitors stopped by Andy's Place today.  I'm talking "random," not the regular 14 of y'all that stop by on friendly visits.

Well, it seems that The AOL Search (which is powered by The Gooble Search©) has got Andy's Place ranked at #1 in a particular search term.

The very thought of being the "go to" place for searchers such as this really makes me ponder throwing in the towel...deleting the blog...ripping my fingernails out one by one...throwing myself off the Red River bridge...and then throwing myself off the Horseshoe Casino Hotel.

And then stabbing myself with a butter knife until I die.  And then, watching a Borat movie.

But, the AOL/Gooble has got Andy's Place as #1.  Again.  I hate AOL.  I really do...

Okay! Which one of you jokers broke The Gooble-Mail© ???

Or, maybe it's just me...

I got a call from one of my biggest customers (a fine Canadian business-lady) about noon today.

Jason (not her real name):  Hi Andy!  I never did hear back from you about the order I e-mailed you a couple of days ago.  I was working late at night, and just decided to e-mail you instead of calling.  Did you ship my order yet?

Me:  Hi Jason (not her real name)!  Ummmm....I'm sorry.  I didn't get an e-mail from you, but I'll take it on the phone...yada yada yada (appropriately apologizing for the trouble/inconvenience/delay/whatever).

So, I got the order processed in my online terminal.  While I was logged in, I decided to see if there were any "online" orders (which are delivered via The Gooble-Mail© ) that I may have missed.  Sure enough...several customers had ordered through our online gateway, and no The Gooble-Mail© notifications had come.

So, about 30 minutes ago, my The Gooble-Mail© box filled up with about 30 computer letters from a wide range of mail servers.  All of them were from two days to 12 hours old.

So, was it just me?  Or, did anyone else have a gap of about 36 hours in delivery of The Gooble-Mail© ?

Just curious.

And, don't ever, NEVER forget...

The Gooble Strikes Again!

I'll swear, I get more and more exasperated with The Gooble Search© with each passing day.

Ever since I took on the thankless job of The Wrongness of The Gooble Czar™, it has been one dang thing after the next with these people (they're not really "people," they're machines, al gore rhythms...whatever)! I had just about decided to give 'em some breathing room to catch up with their virtual breath. But now they've got me infected with a full blown case of the reds! Again!

So, some dude does a The Gooble Search© today. And, of all the gozillion web pages out there he lands right here at Andy's Place.

Click on it, and you will see what this monor was searching for.

So, what did The Gooble direct him to here at Andy's Place?  Well...I"m glad you asked!

The particular post that this monor ended up at (because The Gooble is conspiring against me...and still don't know who it's messing with) is this one.

I hate The Gooble.  And, I'm not sure that I've ever mentioned this before, but...

Teh Stoopid Search of the day... (#15)

It's been a while since we've posted a Stoopid Search of the day.  Oh heck, I could post three or four a day if I wanted to, but nobody likes it except me.  So, I normally keep all the fun to myself.

But this one MUST be shared. Don't bother to thank me...

Today's Stoopid Searcher hails from Montreal, Quebec.  That is in the nation of Canada...kinda'.

As you click on the Sitemeter results to the left, note what teh stoopid Frenchie (trust me, it was a Frenchie...the page results that he/she/whatever got upon landing here were in the French language) is looking for something that I can imagine no sane human wanting to display in their home, office, automobile, or local garbage dump.

You might have to click it twice to get it big enough to read.

The search in question is underlined in red.

Now, why in the name of all things holy in Oz would somebody want to find something like that?

But, what's really funny is the particular image that The Gooble Image Search® referred them to in the archives of Andy's Place.  Maybe The Gooble Image Search® ain't as wrong as I've made out.

Nyuk...

As always, "Teh Stoopid Search of the day" is brought to you by The Gooble is Wrong T-shirt.

I'm not sure I own The Gooble good enough to make this happen...

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

Y'all all know that I am a proud resident of NW Louisiana.  I really am.  I was born here, raised here, spent most of my life here, and will likely die here.

Pretty soon.

Everybody knows that The Gooble is planning some kind of big plan to make their own internet.  And, Shreveport is working on their own advertising plan to maybe get to be the place where The Gooble tries it out.

See?

Now, I was planning to do my very best to wield my influence with The Gooble on this.  Even though I know they are WRONG, and all, I decided to try to be a good citizen of the community, and see if I might not be somehow able to assist Shreveport in getting the BIG NEW EXPERIMENTAL internet deal that The Gooble claims they are going to really install.  Somewhere.  Someplace.  Sometime.  Maybe.

Sure...

Anyway, it seems that Shreveport's Mayor,  Cedric Glover has made his own pitch to The Gooble to get The Gooble to promise to do a new internet deal here in Shreveport.  Maybe.  If they do it.  Ever.  Anywhere.

Maybe.

I really like Cedric on a personal level.  I think he is probably a very good man.  I get good vibes from Mayor Glover.  I mean, I've been in two different restaurants with him, and never ONCE got the feeling that I was about to be sucked down whole!  He was always real nice, and courteous.  Of course, he did have to sit out in the aisle in a chair at Barnhill's Buffet, because he could not fit into the booth where normal humans sit.  And once, I ran in to him (figuratively) down at Brothers Seafood when it was still open (before it closed...just like all the restaurants do under the bridge in Shreveport...but I digress).  He was there eating lunch with Lydia Jackon, and some other legislative wonk types.

I'll tell you what!  I was really glad that Cedric was surrounded by a bunch of witnesses...because a scawny little shrimp cracker like me can get awfully  nervous around a gynormous black dude with a napkin tucked in his collar.

That's racist

But, the fact that he is bigger than Rhode Island does not make him a bad person!  I mean...he did get elected as Mayor of a reasonably large city in the US.  And, honestly, he seems to be a decent guy.  I mean, he supported ObozO when he ran for President.  But, I know a lot of decent folks that supported that air biscuit.

What was I saying?  Oh yeah...Cedric Glover makes his case to The Gooble...

I stole this off of Rex...

And, I think Cedric did a dang good job of it. IMH Expert opinion, Mayor Glover well made the case for The Gooble to maybe promise us to do a new internet deal here before they decide not to do it.  Shreveport will probably invest millions of bucks, and the State of Louisiana will probably invest other millions of our bucks getting everything all ready for it before The Gooble decides not to do it, or to do it up in Kansas, where the stinkin' State Capitol changed it's name to The Gooble just to boot-lick The Gooble.

Now, that's sad...

Just a word of caution here.  The Gooble is wrong.  I'm not sure I've ever told y'all that before, but trust me on this one.

Teh Stoopid Search of the day... (#14)

Hey y'all!  It's been a while since we've had a "Teh Stoopid Search of the day" segment at Andy's Place.  It's not that stupid searchers don't visit every day...it's just that many dozens of y'all sent me computer letters telling me how retarded teh whole thing is.

Alas, I'm is bored this Humpday afternoon, and decided to do one anyway.  And honestly, I'm trying to discourage a certain "class" of visitor here at Andy's Place.  Don't get me wrong...I love and appreciate every visitor (mostly), but I'm kinda getting tired of crude-typing RAAAAACISTS just dropping in.

Such is another visitor that stopped by on Monday.  Sigh...

Now, when you click on this page from the Sitemeter log from Monday, you will notice the usual "Michael Burghardt" The Gooble Image Search®, and the several times daily "Andy's boobs" The Gooble Search©. (Heck, the only thing missing is a "Hannah Giles," a "midget wrestling," or a "don't trust the chinks" search to make this results page actually "the norm.")  Trust me, I know my stats...

Now, why do folks continue to use that term, "nigger?"  I mean, everybody knows by now that negroes do not appreciate being called "nigger!"  I mean, how hard would it be for this searcher to type, "person of color in a buick?"  Huh?  How hard?  Huh?  Or, maybe just "colored person in a buick!"  Wouldn't that be much less crude?

Sure it would.

But what really has me bumfuzzled on this whole deal is..."How does The Gooble know?"   This is the post that teh stoopid RAAAAAACIST searcher was directed to.

Now, how did The Gooblebot know that the subject of the image was a negro/person of color?

Of course, The Gooble is wrong!  I mean, Tiger ain't in a Byurick in that photo!!!  And, I'll give 'em some grace even though I am The Wrongness of The Gooble Czar™, because "Buick" is in the title of the post. But how did The Gooblebot pick up on the negro/person of color deal?

Let me remind y'all of one thing to always remember, and never forget...The Gooble KNOWS! Be cautious when using it.

 IT KNOWS JUNK...

Tuesday, April 13, 2010

Heh! I got another one...

Nyuk!

A visitor came to Andy's Place today via a The Gooble Search© that just cracked me up!!!

Slowly, but slowly, our message is getting through...

Ads by The Gooble...

Sigh...(Just typing out loud here.)

Ads by The Gooble...

First of all, I'm writing from true ignorance about how blog advertisements are bought and sold through The Gooble.  I'm assuming that a blogger throws his/her blog into some massive pool with others, and ads will randomly appear on their blogs.

I am also assuming that SOME editorial leverage is given to the blogger.  Like, "I don't want any child porn ads on my blog, etc."  Not that I think The Gooble would even take ads from child porn sites.  I mean, The Gooble is wrong...but not that wrong.

And, I know that some bloggers sell ads directly to advertisers, which gives them complete oversight of the deal.

But, some funny things can happen with these random ads.  I was reading a post the other day where homosexuality was mentioned.  In the side bar appeared an ad for a "Meet a Gay Millionaire Online" site.  The photo attached to the ad was creepy.  Just sayin'...

I was reading an article about Arkansas college football last fall, and an ad appeared in the sidebar:  "The average IQ of the Razorbacks is 87.  Take our IQ Test!" I'm pretty sure the fan site I was reading didn't have that in mind when they decided to sell ads.

Once I was reading a post that was extremely critical of Michelle Obama.  In the sidebar appeared an ad from a company selling a Michelle Obama Inaugural Edition Doll.  It was a beautiful thing...she was all decked out in a dress that was quite attractive, unlike the crap she really wears.  But you get my drift...

So, I was reading posts in my The Gooble Reader yesterday.  A Canadian blogger that I read (a very conservative female, not RightGirl, btw) has ads that appear beneath her posts.  A link titled "Say Goodbye To Limbaugh" appears regularly in her posts.  This is the linked page:

Now, does this blogger REALLY want to promote a site designed to collect e-mail addresses for solicitations by the Democratic Senate Campaign Committee?  Certainly not.  Will any of her readers bite?  Probably not.

I understand that there are some big boys and gals out there that blog for a living.  That's cool!  Good on 'em!  But, low traffic blogs like Andy's Place would probably not generate enough to pay for the web space (which is free).

I am curious though, about those mid-traffic blogs.  (Say, those that get 1,000 visits or so a day).  Are the funds generated by the ads worth the prospect of promoting some cause or product that the blogger may be firmly against?

Like I said, just typing out loud...

Understanding The Gooble Suggestion Box...

Walt sent me a link to a funny deal that I'm gonna show y'all in a minute.  But first...

In my position as The Wrongness of The Gooble Czar™, I pick up on just about every wrong thing about The Gooble.  It's my task.  And, we have chronicled much Gooble wrongness here at Andy's Place.

But, we have not yet addressed The Gooble Search© "Suggestion Box." You know what I'm talking about. You'll start to enter some search terms, and a whole long list of suggestions will drop down beneath what you're typing.  Well, when I saw this I just had to giggle.  In fact, Andy's Place does actually come up #1 on a few of these (especially ones dealing with Chinks, Indians, midgets, and retarded folks).  Fact!

Actually, this is a page attached to a online casino.  So, if you click on any link, it's going to take you to their gambling site.  But, I did me a little experiment using some of the start terms...you oughta try it, if you've got some time.  Some of the stuff is pretty entertaining that The Gooble will suggest to you.

Enter "do retards," or "do chinese people," or just the word "does."  Honestly, I don't know how The Gooble comes up with suggestions.  But, I'm gonna have to look into it I reckon.  I'll swear, these people just make my job tougher and tougher all the time!  Well, here's that promised link.

Sigh...

The Gooble is wrong! (#45)...is this REALLY a problem?

I wasn't quite sure whether to post this search as a "The Gooble is wrong" item, or a "Teh Stoopid Search of the Day."  It could fit well into either.  But, it seems to exhibit more "wrongness" by The Gooble Search© than it does stoopidity by the searcher.

Actually, the search itself raises some questions in my mind. And, these are questions that must be answered.

As you click on this search to observe the details, you will note that Andy's Place once again is #1 on The Gooble Search© results.  Ho Hum...

But, I'm gonna confess that I never thought that maintaining a dryface would cross the mind of an Asian.  Especially an Asian in the UK.

Who knew this would be a source of concern?  Certainly not your gracious host!

Seriously.  I mean, don't most folks just kinda hope that a dryface will go away?  Ya' know...kinda lap up the love from the UK, and get all greasy & junk?  I mean, eat enough fish & chips, and you can get really gross-out greasy & get zits and junk!

One would think that Asians in the UK would be far more concerned with junk like maintaining their teeth after taking the measure of the population.  Don't ya' think?

Regardless, The Gooble is Wrong!  This poor dryfaced Asian was sidetracked from actual decent advice in articles on down the list.  In truth, the searcher was directed to a discussion of national health care in Germany, and treated to a short line in the post about how health care in the UK sucks!

That should make that dryfaced Asian very excited about their new home!  Regardless, Andy will take yet another #1, no matter how badly The Gooble Search© screwed 'em up!

Just a reminder. I OWN THE GOOBLE! And...

Moving Posts To Blogger From Other Platforms...

Hey y'all!  Hugs, kisses, yada yada yada...

This is one of those posts that will be of ZERO interest to you if you do not maintain a blog.  And, probably not of any interest if you do.  Just sayin'...

I was over at a Blog-buddy's place, and he's thinking about going to something free (read The Globber) to host his glob.  He, along with thousands of other bloggers, is questioning whether to keep up a blog, chuck it, or at least go "no charge."

Now, as The Wrongness of The Gooble Czar™, I have well chronicled just how WRONG The Gooble is here at Andy's Place.  (BTW, I've got some good things to say about The Gooble, and their war with the Chinks...but that's for a later post)  But, I must say that I've got ZERO quarrel with their product, The Globber!  I have found it to be just peachy, with almost zero problems.  So, when I started doing a The Gooble Search©, to see if I could give him some advice about loading all his posts and junk into the Cyber U-Haul, and carting them over to The Globber, I was astounded.  Really.

Man!  You oughta see all the Globber-haters out there on the worldwide computer!!!  Heck, maybe they've all got REALLY high expectations of free junk.  Dunno.  But, it really surprised me.

So, on to the search.  At left you will see The Gooble Search© I did.  If you click on it, you will note that there is not one single search result that mirrors my search for "moving posts to blogger from other platforms."

Every single one in the top 10 is about moving from The Globber to other platforms.   That pattern repeats page, after page, after page, in The Gooble Search© results.

So, I decided to do a post entitled "Moving Posts To Blogger From Other Platforms."  After many days minutes of research, I conclude that I don't think you can do it.  Once you start out with a pay to post dealie, The Globber wants to punish you for your reckless financial decisions, I guess.  Of course, I could be wrong, and you can do it.  I don't know.

I know that this is of no help to anyone at all.  But, I just figure that in a day or two, Andy's Place will be #1 on the thousands of The Gooble Searches© for folks looking to make a change, and searching for, "Moving Posts To Blogger From Other Platforms."

Trust me...it'll happen.

I own The Gooble!  So, welcome to all y'all thousands of new visitors!  Y'all come back now, ya' hear!!!

Teh Stoopid Search of the day... (#13) So, just how convoluted must a The Gooble Search be to rank Andy's Place #1???

I'm glad you asked.

Today's Stoopid Search once again finds Andy's Place ranked by The Gooble as Numero Uno!  Yawn...I'm used to it.  But, this one must be noted.  This particular searcher hails from Sarasota, Florida...and had a rather complex set of parameters for his/her The Gooble Search.

When you click on it you will note a few things.  One is that we once again wax the "big boys."  The New York Times (which sucks), NOLA.com (which is the website of the New Orleans Times-Picayune...and doesn't really suck all that bad), and even LSU.edu once again eat Andy's dust.

No brag...just fact...

So, we note that Andy's Place has been chosen by The Gooble as the perfect destination for someone searching for "cat looking in mirror sees lsu tiger french quarter."  Thanks Gooble!  Thanks for the link, you morons.  I'm sure the searcher was just thrilled with your stoopid result.

It should be noted that the extremely WRONG The Gooble Search sent the searcher to my home page...no particular post.

In fact, reading the text beneath Andy's Place's #1 link, I see that The Gooble has cobbled together text from four different posts I have done within the past few weeks...one concerning Willie...one about my bad hair day...one about the big fat Notre Dame Cheerleader Humpday Hottie...and another about how the Chinks aren't as smart as everybody thinks.

Is any further proof required?  Seriously?
